SGA S2 Spoilers “Critical Mass”

Posted in Atlantis at 5:47 pm by AlaWriter

Atlantis S2 2.13 “Critical Mass”

Episode Summary

A new scientist joins McKay’s team–who both McKay and Sheppard soon begin to suspect when Atlantis comes under threat

Spoiler Snippets

Allison Seagle has just arrived on the Daedalus to join Rodney McKay’s scientific team. John Sheppard jokes with her, telling her to let him know if Rodney gives her any trouble, saying he will stun Rodney with a Wraith stunner if he does. Rodney tells her she has work to do and sends her off, then tells John to not get any ideas, that she’s a scientist, and thus in Rodney’s league and not in John’s, causing John to ask if Rodney has “dibs” on her, which Rodney confirms that he does.

Later, Weir, McKay, Sheppard, and Seagle watch the Control Room scanner as two blips approach Atlantis. The blips are two Wraith Cruisers that will arrive within the next day and a half. Apparently a beacon has been sent out from Atlantis to attract the Wraith.

Rodney says the city will have to be cloaked again. Someone has committed some kind of sabotage on Atlantis, blocking access to failsafes with codes that will be time-consuming to crack (and, assumedly, sending the beacon). Sheppard is suspicious of Seagle, his behavior toward her drawing a sharp look from Rodney.

Later, Weir, Ronan, and Caldwell have a suspect in custody whom they believe has the necessary codes to enable the failsafes. Ronan wants time alone with the suspect to get the codes out of him, but Weir refuses to allow what she assumes will be his method of interrogation, saying that it is not her style. Caldwell, however, supports Ronan interrogating the suspect, telling Elizabeth that her style has not gotten them anywhere so far.

Rodney enters the Control Room some time later to find Seagle working at one of the computer terminals that is not her normal station. Rodney, too, has become suspicious of the woman, and tells her to return to her work on the failsafe code. As she returns to her own station, Rodney notices on the scanner that the Cruisers are close, and radios Elizabeth that it is time to cloak the city.

Later, McKay, Weir, and Seagle are in the Control Room monitoring the arrival of the Cruisers–suddenly the city’s inertial dampeners power up. Seagle says she cannot power them down without the code. Rodney hurries over and basically shoves her aside, ordering her away from it, then studies the screen, not liking what he is seeing.

It is not known at present what happens thereafter, but later Rodney and John discover Seagle is not to blame for the sabotage. John goes to appologize to her while Rodney is present, John telling her he is usually a pretty nice guy, which she says she has heard. Rodney rolls his eyes with disgust, but his expression quickly changes to a smile at the approach of a very tired and unhappy Radek Zelenka whose face has apparently been painted by children, as Rodney greets him as “Mr. Mom,” only to be told by Radek for Rodney to not even speak to him.

Characters

Allison Seagle (a female scientist joining Rodney’s team), Dr. Radek Zelenka.

SGA S2 Spoilers “Ephipany”

Atlantis S2 2.12 “Ephipany”

Episode Summary

John Sheppard goes through a time-warp portal to a place where people believe he is there to help them ascend.

Spoiler Snippets

Lt. Colonel John Sheppard is drawn through a time-warp portal where he is attacked by something called “the beast.” John is found injured by Avrid and carried to a place called the Cloister, where he is healed by a young girl named Hedda who has special healing powers. Also at the Cloister is Teer, a beautiful woman who says she has a mind gift, some sort of psychic ability allowing her to see images in her mind. She tells John that since she was a child she has had visions of John, telling him he is “the one.” John, who takes this as apparently being the lead-in to a romantic encounter, is dissappointed when she goes on to say that by “the one” she means that he is the one destined to defeat “the beast” and then to ascend with all Teer’s people. When John tells her he hoped she was going elsewhere with calling him “the one,” she hastens to add that she has seen that as well, then draws very close to him and kisses him.

Meanwhile, back on Atlantis, Rodney McKay, Teyla, and Carson Beckett have made a troubling discovery: that time passes much faster on the other side of the portal through which John has traveled. What has been days (perhaps) on ATlantis would mean that months have passed for John.

Characters

Teer, Hedda, Rid, Avrid.

Credits

Director: Nell Fearnley

Writer: Brad Wright

‘Stargate SG-1′ Big Winner At Genre Awards

Author: Michael Hinman

Source: SyFy Portal

SciFi Channel’s “Stargate SG-1″ was the big winner at the 2005 fan-voted SyFy Genre Awards this year, taking home four awards, including BEST SERIES/Television.

The winners were announced in a live chat at SyFy Portal’s Yahoo Group, which was attended by a handful of faithful readers from around the world, from as close as the United States, to as far as Toronto and even Croatia.

Besides winning for Best Series, “SG-1″ also won for Michael Shanks as BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR/Television, BEST SPECIAL GUEST/Television (for Claudia Black in “Prometheus Unbound,” and BEST EPISODE/Television for “Prometheus Unbound.”

Black was very popular in the awards this year. Not only did she win Best Special Guest, but she also won BEST ACTRESS/Television for her role in “Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars.” Her co-star in that movie, who moves over to “Stargate SG-1″ this season, is Ben Browder, who won his third SyFy Genre Award in the BEST ACTOR/Television category.

Michael Hinman, founder of SyFy Portal, said that more than 80,000 votes were counted for this year’s Genre Awards, a record. The Genre Awards have been a staple of SyFy Portal since 1999, and is open for all fans to vote once per day for 30 days. The awards were held every year, except 2002, which took place right after the 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States.

S9 Spoilers: Promo Teasers

Posted in SG-1 at 7:22 am by DeeKayP

Get Ready For Something New

Images from the SciFi Channel’s promos aired June 6, 2005, and June 10, 2005, have been added to the Season Nine page in the StargateWiki. Viewers were treated to learning more about Lt. Col. Cameron Mitchell, who comes to the SGC to reunite the old members of SG-1. Mitchell finds himself quickly learning from the best, but apparently getting a little overwhelmed, asking for directions to the Stargate!

It is a fun view of what’s coming up, including a formidable foe in the form of the Doci from “Origin”. This representative of the Orii, the fiery gods, is met by Daniel Jackson on the planet Celestis in another galaxy. The Orii are ascended beings who manifest themselves in a wall of fire, seen behind the Doci in the screencap.

Also included is a quick glimpse of Gen. Jack O’Neill. It appears at first that it is Mitchell who is speaking with him, but further close examination revealing the rim of eyeglasses leads to the conclusion that it is Daniel instead.

The “Get Ready For Something New” promo mixes many older action shots from earlier seasons. Included are glimpses of scenes from “Full Circle”, “Lost City”, and “Moebius”. Current Season Nine images of Lt. Col. Samantha Carter are not yet available, it appears.

Season Nine of Stargate SG-1 will premiere on Friday, July 15, at 8PM Eastern on the SciFi Channel.
