"Swarmed" to Air 28 January 06

Posted in News at 5:16 pm by michelle

The SciFi Channel’s Schedule Bot says the movie “Swarmed” will be aired on that channel at 9 pm on Saturday, 28 January 2006. (You have to search for the movie name to see it.) We assume and hope this is the ‘not a bee movie but a wasp movie’ that Michael Shanks filmed a year or so ago. He plays a lead role in the film, as a scientist named Kent who tries to develop a super pesticide; all does not go well. Watch this space for confirmation.

Season Ten on Solutions

Posted in Articles & Updates at 7:04 am by DeeKayP

Ready and Set to Go!

Season Ten's Cast

Those familiar with our Stargate Wiki have probably noticed a new addition to our line-up of Episode Guides: Season Ten! (Don’t go there if you want to remain spoiler-free. You have been warned.)

With the early announcement of Stargate SG-1’s renewal for their record-breaking tenth season, the writers are already pitching, spinning, breaking, and assigning stories to be written. As of today, eight stories have been put in the line-up, most without titles at the moment. The writers (Robert C. Cooper, Brad Wright, Joseph Mallozzi, Paul Mullie, Damian Kindler, and Alan McCullough) have their first story assignments which seem to carry the SG-1 team into all sorts of directions.

Executive producer and writer Joseph Mallozzi is continuing his role as liaison between the production crew and fans through his GateWorld Blog and his Q&A threads on Solutions and GateWorld. If you don’t want to weed through these online sources, check this site for a compilation of the latest details. That’s part of what we do.

Joe Mallozzi Q&A on Solutions forum

Posted in Articles & Updates at 3:15 pm by michelle

SG-1 writer/producer Joe Mallozzi stopped by unexpectedly today to answer some questions we had posed to him early this summer on his Q&A thread on our Solutions forum. He addressed some new questions too, about the direction of Season 10 of SG-1. You can read his responses on JM’sQ&A Thread. His answers start at post #30 in the thread.

Feel free to add your questions and thanks in advance for 1) not asking questions that have already been asked and 2) being polite and respectful to Joe and your fellow forum members.

Mark your calendars! January 6, 2006, is the date that the final half of Season Nine will begin on the SciFi Channel!

If the last ten episodes are played with no interruptions, the schedule might look like the following (SciFi.com has not yet updated their schedulebot). Keep in mind that the episode order is subject to change:

January 6: 9.11 “The Fourth Horseman Part 2″
January 13: 9.12 “Collateral Damage”
January 20: 9.13 “Ripple Effect”
January 27: 9.14 “Stronghold”
February 3: 9.15 “Ethon”
February 10: 9.16 “Off the Grid”
February 17: 9.17 “The Scourge”
February 24: 9.18 “Arthur’s Mantle”
March 3: 9.19 “Crusade”
March 10: 9.20 “Camelot”

Season Nine is to end in a cliffhanger which will be resolved in the record-breaking Season Ten. According to Joseph Mallozzi in his recent blog entry at GateWorld, the writers have already started pitching and spinning stories for the new season which will start filming either in late February or early March 2006.

R1 S8 Disc 5 Replacements Now Available

Posted in News at 7:36 pm by DeeKayP

Replacement discs are to include longer, original “Threads”

Not too long ago, those who purchased the recently released Region 1 (North America) boxed set for Season Eight were shocked to find that it was the shortened/cut version of “Threads” which was burned onto Disc 5 instead of the originally broadcast version which the SciFi Channel featured as a special 90-minute episode. Consumer complaints were handled by Sony and now TVShowsOnDVD.com has the updated information on how to get a replacement disc, presumably with the longer, original version. Because it is a replacement disc, most likely all other features of the disc have been maintained.

Sony is asking for either the entire jewel case with DVD or the Proof of Purchase (located on the lower right corner of disc’s “Scene Selections” guide sheet which is placed inside the jewel case).

Time is limited! You must postmark your request by January 31! The replacement disc could take as long as eight weeks to be delivered.
