The following paragraphs contain spoilers for Stargate SG-1’s land-mark 200th episode, directed by Martin Wood and scheduled to premiere on the SciFi Channel August 18.
Stargate SG-1’s makeup FX artist Sarah Pickersgill sent a photo to Fangoria from the shooting of the 200th episode. The make-up featured in the picture was shown off by Todd Masters, Nicholas Podbrey, and Rachel Griffin and was created by Pickersgill, Griffin, Brad Proctor, and Mike Fields.
No details concerning the plot were given, but one does have to wonder why there are twenty zombies roaming around.

From Sci Fi Wire… Note that RDA’s split between SG-1 and Atlantis is revealed in bold below. SG-1 fans may be rightfully disappointed.
Brad Wright—executive producer of SCI FI Channel’s original series Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis—told SCI FI Wire that it’s been like old times having Richard Dean Anderson back on set for several guest appearances on both shows, reprising his role as Gen. Jack O’Neill. Anderson’s first appearance will be in “200,” SG-1’s 200th episode, which will air Aug. 18 as part of the series’ upcoming 10th season. “It’s been a lot of fun to see him again,” Wright said in an interview. “He’s doing two episodes of SG-1 and three episodes of Atlantis.”
Anderson left the Stargate fold after season eight of SG-1 in order to spend more time with his young daughter. But both he and the show’s producers left the door open for return engagements.
Wright said that SG-1 could not toast its 200th episode without its original leading man. “He was so much the face of SG-1 for so many years,” Wright said. “We did go on without him and made some fine television, but for the 200th episode there was just no way we could even consider doing it without bringing him back. And, of course, when we called him to ask him to do that, he said, ‘Just one?’ So it was nice to know that he wanted to come back. And it’s actually kind of a testament to the environment we have here. People miss it when they’re gone. It’s just a fun place to work, and it’s a fun show to work on. That’s why everybody still works their butt off and why we’re still on the air, I guess, because it shows on the screen.”
SG-1’s 200th episode is a send-up that picks up the story of the show’s 100th episode, “Wormhole X-Treme!” and brings back guest star Willie Garson as abductee-turned-Hollywood producer Martin Lloyd. The episode “is based on a great idea [executive producer] Robert [C. Cooper] had, and we’ve all written bits and put them all together, and Robert went through it, and then I went through it,” Wright said. “It’s essentially a ‘Wormhole X-Treme!’ revisited, in a sense, because Marty comes back, but this time he needs our help to work on the Wormhole X-Treme! feature [film]. Because even though the series was canceled after three episodes, it did well on DVD. A little nod to Serenity, I suppose. And the Air Force loves it, because they love the notion of a television series out there that is ostensibly … [the] real events in SG-1, in Stargate Command. So, plausible deniability. … So it’s a series of, I guess you could call them, vignettes or flashes. … ‘Wormhole X-treme!’ was pushing it. This is pushing it twice as far. But, you know, it’s the 200th episode.”
Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis, which comes back for a third season, will both return with new episodes beginning on July 14. —Ian Spelling

SCI FI Announces Caprica
NEW YORK—SCI FI Channel announced the development of Caprica, a spinoff prequel of its hit Battlestar Galactica, in presentations to advertisers in New York on April 26. Caprica would come from Galactica executive producers Ronald D. Moore and David Eick, writer Remi Aubuchon (24) and NBC Universal Television Studio.
Caprica would take place more than half a century before the events that play out in Battlestar Galactica. The people of the Twelve Colonies are at peace and living in a society not unlike our own, but where high technology has changed the lives of virtually everyone for the better.
But a startling breakthrough in robotics is about to occur, one that will bring to life the age-old dream of marrying artificial intelligence with a mechanical body to create the first living robot: a Cylon. Following the lives of two families, the Graystones and the Adamas (the family of William Adama, who will one day become the commander of the Battlestar Galactica), Caprica will weave together corporate intrigue, techno-action and sexual politics into television’s first science fiction family saga, the channel announced.

SCI FI HAS ITS FINGER ON THE ‘PULSE’
Released by Sci Fi
Channel Unveils New Broadband Video Channel ‘SCI FI Pulse’ Loaded with Unique Digital Entertainment Content
NEW YORK — April 26, 2006 — SCI FI, the television network dedicated to fueling the imagination, will unveil its new content-rich online broadband channel, ‘SCI FI Pulse,’ on Monday, May 8. The announcement was made today by Bonnie Hammer, President, USA Network and SCI FI Channel and Dave Howe, Executive Vice President and General Manager, SCI FI Channel.
Dedicated to original programs and tie-ins to SCI FI’s existing shows, ‘SCI FI Pulse’ will initially feature complete episodes of select SCI FI original series, full-length uncut SCI FI original movies, behind-the-scenes footage, deleted scenes and more. Throughout the summer ‘SCI FI Pulse’ will roll out its own exclusive original content, including a weekly news show, the return of the popular ‘Exposure’ online film festival, webisode spin-offs of SCI FI’s hit series, user-generated programming and much more.
“SCI FI has always been dominant in the digital arena because forward-thinking is part of its DNA,” said Ms. Hammer. “Genre fans are early adopters who embraced our award-winning website and original web content from day one, and we’re confident that we’ll expand that huge audience with our fantastic broadband programming.”
“‘SCI FI Pulse’ delivers on our commitment to exploit new digital opportunities for our audience to enjoy and get involved in our programming,” added Mr. Howe. “Our broadband Channel is primed to be the category killer destination for genre content on the Web and will further strengthen our relationship with our viewers, building an even bigger online community.”
Throughout the year, ‘SCI FI Pulse’ will test the boundaries of online programming with a full slate of offerings:
TV 360 & WEBISODES
As part of NBC Universal’s overall commitment to “TV 360″ content, every SCI FI Channel show in development will have a unique broadband component, such as the recent live online psychic readings by Char Margolis, the popular videoblogs of ‘Battlestar Galactica’ Executive Producer David Eick, and the online voting for ‘Who Wants to Be A Superhero?’ — where users will be able view online audition videos and choose one of the contestants for SCI FI’s newest reality series. Additionally, ‘SCI FI Pulse’ is already working with the creative talents behind some of SCI FI’s top original series to produce dramatic webisode spin-offs. Development is currently underway on original webisodes of ‘Battlestar Galactica,’ the soon-to-debut ‘Eureka’ and the upcoming limited series event ‘Motel Man’ (working title).
‘EXPOSURE’ FILM FESTIVAL
‘Exposure,’ SCI FI’s unique online short film festival, offers filmmakers an unprecedented opportunity — impress online voters and have their short film voted into a two-hour special that will air on SCI FI, and possibly other NBC Universal channels. Viewers will then vote for the best film from the special. The top-voted filmmakers will win the opportunity to be involved in creating one of SCI FI’s wildly popular Saturday night action movies.
ONLINE PILOTS
Rewriting the rules of TV development, SCI FI puts greenlight power in the hands of viewers. Several potential series pilots will be posted online for viewer feedback. The fate of these “online pilots” will be determined in large part by their reception on ‘SCI FI Pulse.’ Viewers may have a hand in discovering SCI FI’s next ‘SCI FI Friday’ hit.
As the broadband channel continues to develop, SCI FI also continues to bolster the narrowband SCIFI.COM site with information-rich areas that keep the site at the forefront of sci-fi entertainment on the Web. Recent successful additions to the home page have included:
‘SCIFIPEDIA’
‘Scifipedia’ (http://scifipedia.scifi.com) is SCIFI.COM’s entry into the world of wikipedias — online encyclopedias developed and maintained by the online community. Sure to become the ultimate database for all things sci-fi, ‘Scifipedia’ launched on April 22, 2006 with 1000 starter entries that will serve as the base upon which science fiction fans and experts can log on and add to or edit. Focused solely on sci-fi facts, definitions and lingo, ‘Scifipedia’ is sure to become the Internet’s top destination for information about the genre. How could it not be since it’s guided and updated by those who know and love sci-fi best — the fans.
TECH BLOG
SCIFI.COM’s Tech Blog (http://blog.scifi.com/tech/) boasts up-to-the-minute daily news about the world of technology and real-world, practical reviews of the latest gadgets and gear. Adria as an adult has been cast
Michael Ausiello of TV Guide has been keeping Stargate SG-1 fans in the know as he digs up spoilers and scoops for the show, now in production of its record-breaking tenth season!
In his most recent entry in his column, there was the following casting scoop for the adult Adria, Vala’s child born as the “will of the Ori” (10.01 “Flesh and Blood”). (Vala’s daughter Adria is seen as a 7-year-old and 12-year-old in the season’s premiere and as a young adult in her early 20s in 10.07 “Counterstrike”.):
Question: Come on, Ausiello, gimme the scoop on Stargate SG-1! I’ll send you a lifetime supply of Snapple and Smurfs! — Patrick
You sure? I plan on living a long time. OK, remember me telling you how producers were looking for a “name” actress to play the recurring role of Adria, the rapidly aging daughter of Vala (Claudia Black)? Well, the name they found was Morena Baccarin, whom Firefly/Serenity fans know as prostitute, er, companion Inara.
As Ausiello stated in his scoop, Morena Baccarin’s most recent sci-fi role was as Inara Serra in the TV show Firefly and its recent feature film release Serenity. She also has been seen as the recurring character Maya Griffin in The O.C. and heard as she gives her voice talent to the character Black Canary in Justice League.
Adria as a young woman will make her first appearance in “Counterstrike”. She is a strong and charismatic leader of the Ori, gathering human worshippers and warriors in the Ori’s plan to convert as many followers as they can in the Milky Way, hoping to eventually amass enough power to wipe out their ascended rivals, the Ancients (also known as the Altera and The Others).
The Ori impregnated Vala after she was sent to their home galaxy in Season Nine’s “Beachhead”. Vala married a local man named Tomin in order to conceal her mysterious pregnancy (”Crusade”). Vala returns to the Milky Way via one of the Ori warships from which Daniel rescues her (”Flesh and Blood”). Vala, however, must leave her daughter behind and in the care of the Ori followers onboard the warship.
Adria loves her mother and wishes to convert her to Origin. She claims that Vala is revered among her people because she is the mother of the Orici — the Ori’s human representative in this galaxy who leads the crusade. Adria captures Daniel and Vala and tortures Daniel in an attempt to probe his mind on the details of a weapon used against 100,000 of her people. Unable to gain her information, she demonstrates her cold cruelty by reviving a Jaffa whom she just killed with a staff weapon, obtaining the information she seeks from him, and then expertly snapping his neck.
Adria wears a protective pendant (similar to Merlin’s Sangreal, the anti-Ascended weapon he created to neutralize the Ori) which might hold the secret to some of her powers. It protected her against the weapon used against her followers, leaving her as the only survivor. The Jaffa and SG-1 take the opportunity to board her unoccupied Ori warship, only to run into complications as they vie for control. Adria isolates Daniel and Vala on the ship in order to perform her interrogations, unbeknownst to the others. After discovering that it was the Free Jaffa who used the weapon against her, she sets a course to rendezvous with the other Ori ships at the planet Dakara, the home of the Free Jaffa Nation and the place where the weapon was found. Gen. Landry and Bra’tac are on the planet gathering information about the use of the weapon. Will Adria destroy Dakara or will SG-1 and their Jaffa allies thwart her plans?
“Counterstrike” was due before cameras April 19-27.
Spoilers are subject to change as the episode is still in production.

The April 24th Sci Fi Monday SG-1 marathon was “One is Never Enough,” which included two two-parters from Season 7, “Heroes” and “The Lost City”. Below are the interview snippets shown throughout the night, courtesy of Elyse at sg1_spoilme. Thanks, Elyse!
Also this week, you can view very high quality Quicktime movies of the snippets at Farscapism.com. Well worth watching.
Ben Browder
“Well, what I think is interesting about the SG1 team is that it is continuing to change and evolve. You still have the core – you have Teal’c, you have Colonel Carter, you have Daniel – and in the last two years, we’ve added Landry, and Mitchell and this year we’ve added Vala, and you have a group of people who have saved the universe on countless times and now you have new people to come in and ask the stupid questions (said with big grin). ‘I’m sorry, we’re going through the gate, why?’ and ‘who is that? Great, okay, let’s go!’ (ends with thumbs up gesture).”
Michael Shanks
“Heroes, part one and two, really sort of delved into the character relationships in terms of what they mean, or what they could mean in our theoretical world, what they could mean to the outside world that we’re trying to represent, and uh, I think that was a great example of the characters interacting and making you care about them so that when all the explosions and bombs and the aliens are happening that you actually care about the characters so I think that’s one of my most favorite episodes, if that’s proper English.”
Amanda Tapping
“What I’ve enjoyed building over the last ten years is the relationship with Teal’c. They just really love each other and it’s so nice that they now express it. An arm around the shoulder, or a hug, or a look between the two of them that says everything, and Chris and I really enjoy playing that. Like yesterday we were shooting a moment with this new character Vala – Claudia Black’s character – and she went up and did something and we just shared a look that said everything, that we’d known each other so long, and that’s quintessentially what makes SG-1.”
Beau Bridges
“One of my favorites of last year was ‘Ripple Effect.’ I really enjoyed that. It was very imaginative, and I still get a thrill because it’s sort of new to me – all the sci-fi stuff, when you have clones of all these people, and it gets kind of tedious doing it, because there’s a lot of technical stuff going on. You have to shoot scenes over and over again to get those effects, but watching it, just as an audience, it made me giggle. I thought it was cool.”

10.08 MEMENTO MORI
Summary
Vala is kidnapped for information deep inside her memory, but is left without her memories after her captors subject her to the use of a memory device. She manages to escape, find a job as a waitress, and attempt to put together the pieces of her life. In the meantime, SG-1 must locate her by interrogating her captors.
Details
Athena, the Greek goddess of war, kidnaps Vala for information hidden deep in the recesses of her mind. The use of a memory device backfires and leaves her without memories of who she is. Somehow, she escapes her captors from the warehouse they have taken her and finds herself in a nearby deli. She orders food, but cannot pay for it. The owner of the deli, Sol, eventually believes her story about her lost memories and offers to take her to the hospital. Vala has a flashback of being strapped down by two people, Weaver and Kakalios, and strongly refuses the offer. Sol befriends her and hires her as a waitress. Later, Vala impresses him by single-handedly subduing armed thugs. Ryan, one of Sol’s regular customers and a cop, takes Vala in for questioning.
Back at the SGC, Mitchell and Teal’c interrogate Weaver as Daniel and Carter look on. Mitchell offers Weaver protection after Weaver claims he wants to help them, but fears for his own well-being.
Guest Appearances
Sol – the owner of the deli who hires Vala as a waitress
Ryan - a cop who witnesses Vala’s encounter with Sol in the deli and later takes Vala in for questioning after subduing the would-be robbers
Weaver - one of Athena’s goons

DVD Sets Celebrate Television’s Longest Running Sci-Fi Series 10th Anniversary
Culver City, Calif. (April 3, 2006) — Sony Pictures Home Entertainment celebrates the 10th anniversary of “Stargate SG-1″ with the release of the Stargate SG-1: Seasons 1-8 DVD collection on June 13. Starring Richard Dean Anderson (MacGyver, General Hospital), Michael Shanks (Door To Door), Amanda Tapping (Life or Something Like It), Christopher Judge (Snow Dogs) and Don Davis (A League of Their Own), Stargate SG-1 is based on the hit 1994 film Stargate. Chronicling the adventures of the Stargate Command, the series follows the four members of SG-1 on their missions through an ancient “gate” to new worlds where they encounter fascinating and sometimes dangerous cultures.
Created by Jonathan Glassner and Brad Wright (TV’s “The Outer Limits”), Stargate SG-1 debuted on Showtime in 1997, later airing on The Sci-Fi Channel beginning with Season Six. Now in its 10th season, Stargate SG-1 is the longest running sci-fi series in television history and has been nominated for more than 71 awards, including eight Emmy® nominations.
The Stargate SG-1: Seasons 1-8 DVD collection contains the complete episodes for each season and value added content including “The Directors’ Series” and “Beyond the Gate” featurettes. The commemorative collection will also feature sleek, innovative slim packs decorated with classic sci-fi themed art. Stargate SG-1: Seasons 1-8 will each be available for an SRP of $49.96.
SYNOPSIS
Colonel Jack O’Neill (Anderson) resurfaces from retirement when a corrupt being passes through the Stargate to Earth and kidnaps a female soldier. Stargate, discovered in Egypt at the turn of the 20th century, is a portal that immediately carries travelers across vast distances to other galaxies. The reactivation of Stargate unleashes O’Neill’s silence about the truth — O’Neill never destroyed Stargate as he was ordered to years before and scientist Dr. Daniel Jackson (Shanks) is alive and well on the far-away planet of Abydos.
When Colonel O’Neill passes through the Stargate to Planet Abydos to rescue the lost soldier once again, he is reunited with Dr. Jackson who then confesses that the evil being also kidnapped his wife and brother-in-law. Jackson then unveils his new discovery – an ancient map of hieroglyphics indicating other existing Stargates that lead to other planets throughout the galaxy, not only Planet Abydos.
O’Neill returns to Earth to inform his superior General George Hammond (Davis) about the advancement of Stargate as a portal to many unknown frontiers. Hammond sends newly assembled SG teams to travel throughout the galaxy to conduct research and fight conflict and dark power threatening the safety of Earth and other peaceful planets. This team, known as SG-1, works under the auspices of a covert agency known as the SGC, a division of Air Force Intelligence that is highly classified; only the President and the Joint Chiefs know of its existence. Jackson’s discovery and the SG team’s subsequent missions “unlock the universe” and the adventures of Colonel O’Neill, and Stargate SG-1 begins.
