US Amazon.com Offers Season 10 Episodes for Download

iTunes hasn’t updated their offer since 10.06 “200”

For whatever reason, iTunes has not updated their list of offerings for Season 10 episodes of Stargate SG-1 as what is promised on SciFi when the episodes air (they are supposed to have the episode available on iTunes the day after its first airing on SciFi). Speculation abounds as to the reason for the delay in making 10.07 “Counterstirke” available, but to make up for the problem, MGM is now offering an “unboxed” version of the episode on Amazon.com (US only) at the same cost of $1.99.

According to Amazon.com, “Each Amazon Unbox Video purchase includes both a DVD-quality video file suitable for playback on a large screen (your PC or TV), plus a video file designed for playback on compatible Windows Media video portable devices.” The downloading information for 10.06 “Counterstirke” can be viewed HERE.

“Counterstrike” on Amazon.com picks up where iTunes left off with “200”. Fans have been watching and waiting for iTunes to make “Counterstrike” available, but they’ve been waiting for two weeks with no satisfaction. It is uncertain as to whether or not iTunes will be able to distribute the remainder of Season 10 at this point, thus making purchases limited to the first six episodes of the 20-episode season.

[Thanks to Whisper for the tip! Edited to add: All Season 10 episodes aired thus far are available for download.]

  1. Well, that’s nice, but too bad it only works on Windows XP. At least iTunes is multi-platform compatible.
