Stargateprops resolve eBay security issue

Posted in Merchandise, News at 11:15 am by Alison

UPDATE ON OUR EBAY SECURITY ISSUE AND OUR STARGATE AUCTION LISTINGS

To our valued Clients, Bidders and Friends:

We sincerely apologise for the confusion concerning our eBay Stargate listings that were cancelled this weekend. The problem has now been resolved but for those bidders/viewers, who were watching those items, allow us to explain what happened:

On Feb 23 someone compromised our eBay Seller account and managed to alter some of our listings by adding a fake “Buy this item now” option (with the idea of trying to get bidders to send him funds.) In working with eBay security personnel we had the compromised listings removed and our Seller account and taken offline whilst we investigated the problem.

We are pleased to say that with the help of eBay security personnel, we have now resolved the issue and have also implemented additional eBay security measures to ensure this type of thing does not happen again. With these security measures in place, we shall now relist all of the 33 cancelled items over the next 3 days.

(If we list them all at the same time, then they will all close at the same time, which would put a strain on our shipping department in getting all 33 items packed and shipped promptly. For this reason, we shall relist over 3 days)

Once again, we apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused and encourage you to continue to view our auctions. If you were a bidder on one of the cancelled items, we hope you’ll be back with your bids once again!

To visit the auction site, please click here.

Thank you…..and good luck in your bidding!

IMPORTANT EBAY SECURITY ANNOUNCEMENT FROM STARGATEPROPS

It seems that someone has been able to modify some of our Stargate eBay auction listings by adding a false “BUY IT NOW” option to the listing with an email contact address of DARWINDAUM916@GMAIL.COM. Please note that this is a FALSE offer and was NOT posted by STARGATEPROPS.

Ebay security personnel are investigating this activity but in the meantime, do NOT respond toany such offers or email solicitations. The only emails you should trust are those sent through eBay’s messaging system or those directly from Legends Memorabilia. We apologise for any inconvenience and expect this matter to be dealt with by eBay personnel shortly.

Thank you for your continued support in our auctions!

URGENT SECURITY MESSAGE

As a follow up to our auction security message sent on Friday, we have still not resolved this issue to our satisfaction with eBay. Therefore, we ask that you do NOT respond to ANY “Buy it Now” purchase solicitations from ANYONE — even if the message appears to come from Stargateprops, Legends Memorabilia, Paul Brown or Angie Brown. We have concerns that our ID may have been comprised so we shall be making changes to our eBay account. We shall be posting these details as soon as they are complete.

In the meantime, we apologise for this inconvenience and once again stress, do not respond to any solicitations for purchases on our auction items.

Further updates will be made on our website at www.stargateprops.com

THE LEGENDS MEMORABILIA/STARGATE
CANSTRUCTION 2007 CHARITY AUCTION IS NOW OPEN!

Legends Memorabilia has once again teamed up with Industrial Brand Creative to enter the CANSTRUCTION 2007 charity event in support of the foodbanks of Greater Vancouver.

Each year Legends Memorabilia/Stargateprops runs a charity auction to raise funds for the purchase of cans of food which we use to build a unique 10′ x 10′ structure made entirely from cans of food! After the displays have been displayed to the public for one week, they are dismantled and all of the food is donated to the local foodbanks.

This is our fourth year and in all previous years we have come away as prizewinners in the process of donating more than 40,000 food items!

• In 2004 our structure was called ‘Cans Film Festival’ and this entry won us the prestigious ‘Can Do’ award.

• In 2005 we built ‘More than Just Peanuts’ and won the ‘Juror’s Favourite’ award — the top prize in the competition. This structure was also was also an award winner at the National event where we competed with more than 50 cities throughout North America!

• In 2006 our structure was called ‘Catch Me If You Can’ and once again we brought home the ‘Juror’s Favourite’ award.

But none of this is possible with you, the fans of Stargate who have so generously supported this project for the past 3 years. This year we have the support of the Stargate Production Studio as well as the principal cast members of SG-1 to bring you some unique items to bid on. We shall be offering autographed set-worn items from ‘the original 6′: RICHARD DEAN ANDERSON, MICHAEL SHANKS, AMANDA TAPPING, CHRIS JUDGE, DON S. DAVIS & TERYL ROTHERY.

But the highlight of this great charity event is a very special VIP Stargate Studio Tour for 2 people!

Through the generosity of STARGATE PRODUCTIONS, we are delighted to bring to this auction the ultimate dream for Stargate fans: Your own personal and private VIP tour of the Stargate production studios!

This tour (for you and a friend) will occupy a full day of Stargate related entertainment that will be sure to leave an indelible mark in your memory! This will be your opportunity to look behind the scenes of both Stargate SG-1 and Stargate: Atlantis as you get a personal insight into the many factors that have made this historical series so great.

Your private VIP tour will have many memorable highlights including:

• A visit to the SGC production set which includes the Gateroom, the master Control Centre, offices used by O’Neill, Hammond and Landry; as well as the labs, medical center and more.

• The Stargate: Atlantis Gateroom production facility and stage.

• Various other sets including Daedalus, Goa’uld Mothership, Puddle Jumper, Wraith Hive, the Ori set and more.

Your VIP tour will be arranged for a date that is mutually convenient to you and the studio. Our recommendation is that the date of the tour should be before June 2007 as you will then be able to visit the studio whilst both SG-1 and Atlantis are being filmed.

Atlantis Season Four Filming Starts March 1

Posted in Atlantis, News at 5:50 am by DeeKayP

SPOILER WARNING: The following contains some spoilers for Season Three and Four of Stargate Atlantis.

Fans of Stargate Atlantis have been given a behind-the-scenes look at the pre-production process by show-runner Joseph Mallozzi in his new personal blog. Recently, Mallozzi told his readers the titles of six of the first episodes slated for the new 20-episode season. The producers are currently in “prep week”, the week before filming begins to basically set up everything from casting, costumes, stunts, special effects, props, visual effects and playback, set design, and location scouting. It all comes together with a series of meetings with each department head. Then, the filming begins on March 1.

Last year, the filming of Season Three took a break during July, but this year, Mallozzi has stated that the cast and crew will most likely take their break in June. Then, it’s back to work until they’re finished filming sometime around September 28.

Season Four will see plenty of changes in front of the camera with the absence of Paul McGillion (Dr. Carson Beckett) and limited appearances of Torri Higginson (Dr. Elizabeth Weir), and with the addition of Amanda Tapping (Lt. Col. Samantha Carter) to the main cast, as well as Jewel Staite in her recurring role of Dr. Keller, Beckett’s replacement after his accidental death in Season Three’s “Sunday”. Mallozzi stated that viewers would have to tune in to find out if there are any other changes to the personnel of the Atlantis Expedition as they face a new enemy and new challenges in the Pegasus Galaxy.

It’s not unusual for episodes to be filmed out of final airing order because of various challenges the production crew may face, including cast availability. Right from the start, we know that Amanda Tapping will not be available for filming some of the Atlantis episodes because she’ll be filming the two Stargate SG-1 movies (The Ark of Truth is to start filming April 15; Continuum, June 1; each taking about four weeks to film). This might be why Carter will be seen in only 14 episodes of the 20-episode season and possibly why they are starting production with the episode “Doppelganger” instead of the season premiere “Adrift”. Additioinally, Robert C. Cooper is writing, directing, and producing “Doppelganger” and then going straight to writing, directing, and producing Stargate: The Ark of Truth, so his availablility was also most likely a contributor to his episode being first on the production slate.

The British Columbia Film Commission website provides the following information about this production season:

Judge to Appear in Season Four of Atlantis

Posted in Atlantis, News at 6:10 pm by DeeKayP

Not only is Amanda Tapping moving into the main cast of Stargate Atlantis for Season Four, but SG-1 actor Christopher Judge is scheduled to make an appearance in an episode in the first half of the new season, according to Joseph Mallozzi in a recent Chicago Tribune interview.

Mallozzi also addresses the possibilities of the remaining SG-1 main cast members’ appearances in Season Four:

There were no plans at present, he said, to have Ben Browder (who plays “SG-1’s” Cameron Mitchell), Claudia Black (”SG-1’s” Vala Mal Doran) or Michael Shanks (”SG-1’s” Daniel Jackson) guest on “Atlantis,” but Mallozzi didn’t rule it out.

“They’re going to be in the two ['Stargate SG-1' DVD] movies” that are being filmed this spring, Mallozzi said. As far as bringing them back to “Atlantis,” “it’s a matter of coming up with a believable story and the actors’ availability and everything else. At this point it makes more sense for Teal’c or for Daniel Jackson to come to ‘Atlantis’ than for [Cameron] Mitchell.”

He added that Christopher Judge, who plays Teal’c on “SG-1,” will guest on one early fourth season episode of “Atlantis.”

The article also addresses the premise behind the new season’s storyline:

Mallozzi said that Season 4 of “Atlantis” would also feature the arrival of a new alien race, one that will be an “unpredictable wild card.”

“Looking over the 10 stories we’ve been thinking about” for the first half of Season 4 of “Atlantis,” Mallozzi said, “the easiest way to put it is that a lot of [stuff] is going to go down. Some fans will not like it, some fans will love it. We’re going to get movement on characters, and we’ll have some fairly character-centric stories. We’re going to develop an aspect of the Wraith, and we’re going to have this new wild-card race,” he said.

Black to Appear in "The Dresden Files"

Posted in News at 5:18 pm by DeeKayP

A recent press release from NBC Universal has announced that SG-1’s Claudia Black will be making a guest appearance on SciFi Channel’s The Dresden Files on March 25.

In other casting news, Claudia Black (Stargate SG-1, Farscape) has recently completed filming a guest-starring role on SCI FI’s new original series The Dresden Files. In the episode, entitled “The Other Dick,” Black plays Liz Fontaine, an Erin Brockovich-style private eye with a checkered past.
