MGM: Robert C. Cooper Video on “Vegas”

Posted in Atlantis, Press Watch at 8:35 am by DeeKayP

Detective John Sheppard of Vegas

MGM’s Official Stargate website has posted another new video clip featuring the episode “Vegas”. In this edition, writer and director Robert C. Cooper talks about presenting an alternate reality story that featured a different John Sheppard than what we’ve seen over the past five years.

“Because it’s an alternate reality,” Cooper explained, “he doesn’t have to be quite as much a shining hero. He’s got more flaws and he can make some darker choices.”

Visit MGM: “Vegas” for Cooper’s insights about his last Stargate Atlantis television story.

The first direct-to-video movie produced after the cancellation of Stargate SG-1, Stargate: The Ark of Truth, will be making its US television debut tonight on the Sci Fi Channel at 9 PM.

Meant to wrap up the Ori story arc that was begun during Season Nine, this movie sees SG-1’s taking the Odyssey to the Ori’s home galaxy to locate a piece of Ancient technology, the Ark of Truth, that is believed to be able to stop the advance of the Ori’s destructive and deadly army. Having no confidence that SG-1’s mission will succeed, the IOA develops a dangerous plan of their own.

Stargate: The Ark of Truth was written and directed by Robert C. Cooper and stars the Season Ten cast. The Sci Fi Channel has also promised a sneak peek into the franchise’s upcoming television series, Stargate Universe, which is making its debut in the fall on their newly-renamed Syfy Channel.

So, here it is:

Stargate SG-1 Season One on Hulu

Posted in News, SG-1 at 9:42 am by DeeKayP

Stargate SG-1 title

Start from the beginning of Stargate Command as they put together their first teams to explore the galaxy through the Stargate. Certainly, they needed to find advanced technology, but they also needed to form alliances with other races who could help them free the billions of slaves—of many species—who were at the mercy of the powerful Goa’uld System Lords.

HULU (US only) now has the first season of Stargate SG-1 so you can catch the story of how Colonel Jack O’Neill, Dr. Daniel Jackson, Captain Samantha Carter, and the Jaffa warrior Teal’c became the legendary SG-1 under the command of Major General George Hammond.
