LARGEST EVER STARGATE MEMORABILIA AUCTION LAUNCHED>>>

LARGEST-EVER OFFERING OF AUTHENTIC ‘STARGATE SG-1’ MEMORABILIA FEATURED IN MONTH-LONG STUDIO ONLINE AUCTION

More Than 450 Items to be Offered for Auction Throughout November on eBay

Auction Highlighted by Actual Stargate Used in Filming of the Long-Running Hit Sci-Fi Series

Los Angeles, October 31, 2003 -- MGM Worldwide Television in association with Legends Memorabilia Inc. announces the kickoff of its most comprehensive studio online auction ever – featuring more than 450 items used in actual production of the hit series’ first seven seasons.  At 12:01 am (PST) Saturday, November 1, the virtual “opening bell” will ring at www.eBay.com for the largest-ever auction of costumes, props, set decoration pieces, studio concept art and more from the action-adventures Sci-Fi series starring Richard Dean Anderson, Michael Shanks, Amanda Tapping and Christopher Judge as the SG-1 team, whose ongoing mission to thwart intergalactic dangers to the Earth takes them through an ancient portal, the Stargate, which transports them to distant worlds.

Throughout the entire month of November, items will be added to the auction, with the bidding remaining open on each item for only seven days.  With more than 450 items scheduled for auction, and new items added throughout the month, viewers will want to check in frequently.  The online auction will end Sunday night, November 30, at midnight (PST).

Expected to draw the greatest attention is the seven-foot “mini Stargate” that was used in the Season 5 episode “Ascension.”  Large enough to accommodate even the most full-sized space traveler, yet small enough to fit into the average Earthling’s home or office, this is the ultimate collectible since there is only one of them.  While the buyer of this item can plug it in and actually step through the “gate,” there is no guarantee that they will travel to any place in particular . . . other than to the other side of the “Stargate.”

The 450+ items offered include numerous costumes and props, all of which have actually been used in the production of the show, and many of which were worn or handled by the series stars.  Some of the props to be offered include a Jaffa staff weapon, Apophis’ throne, an Asgard cloaking device, a Tollan communicator, Jaffa battle armour, a Goa’uld container with Symbiote, Aris Boch body armour and O’Neill’s letter of resignation.  In addition, there will be offered for sale a large number of alien guns, swords, daggers, Tok’ra props, mission reports, SGC files, tracking devices, replicators, maps and books.

For the first time ever, fans can truly own a piece of one-of-a-kind STARGATE history, with the sale of the cloth “chair backs” from the on-set directors chairs used throughout production by the series’ stars and key crew.  Among those offered will be the personalized chair backs for Richard Dean Anderson, Michael Shanks, Amanda Tapping, Christopher Judge, Corin Nemec, plus those of the show’s many directors, producers, writers and other actors.  Each of the chair backs fit standard directors chair frames, which are easily purchased throughout the world.

Costumes up for auction include those worn in the series by actors Richard Dean Anderson, Michael Shanks, Amanda Tapping, Christopher Judge and Corin Nemec, among others.  There will also be costumes worn by a number of the series’ ongoing characters, including Apophis, Trofsky, Aris Boch, Drey’auc, Sha’re, Omac, Frotak, Tuplo, Ledora, Nirrti, The Keeper and Shyle, to name but a few.

For the more “art conscious” fan, many pieces of art used in the creation of sets and props will be offered.  All are suitable for framing, and will include a wide assortment of  concept art, set sketches, plans and blueprints, all of which are authenticated by the shows’ designers. Concept art signed by Stargate artist James Robbins will also be available in this sale.

All of the items listed here, along with hundreds of others to be offered for sale, can be viewed, and bid upon, at http://members.ebay.com/aboutme/stargateprops/.  Each item will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity verifying its use/appearance on the show.
