''The official summary is not yet available as this episode has yet to air in the United States.''
The war against the Ori takes a particularly tragic turn when Se'tak, the new leader of the Jaffa Council, unleashes the deadly Ancient device on Dakara against a world that has just converted to Origin. Every living being on the target planet is killed instantly — thousands of innocent civilians and Ori soldiers alike. Shocked by this tactic, Gen. Landry and Bra'tac journey to Dakara to condemn the unjustifiable attack.

== Episode Spoilers ==
SG-1 and Vala, meanwhile, explore a deserted Ori warship that was left behind on the stricken planet. Unfortunately, they're not alone: a team of Jaffa warriors has also sneaked on board. The Jaffa believe that the powerful warship rightfully belongs to them, and they're prepared to defend their claim — by force. In short order, they capture Mitchell, Teal'c, Daniel and Vala, leaving only Carter at liberty. But there's someone else on board as well: Adria, Vala's daughter and the leader of the Ori crusade.

'''Note:''' Latest updates are <font color="#AC4516">in color</font>.
Her special powers have allowed her to escape the Ancient weapon's blast. Now, with those same powers, she knocks out the Jaffa guarding Daniel and Vala and greets her surprised mother. She's expecting an Origin fleet to arrive soon, after which she's looking forward to spending long hours converting Vala to the one true faith. In the meantime, she attempts to probe Daniel's mind for information about the weapon that so effectively destroyed her troops. With great effort, he resists her, but his good work is undone when she turns her attention to a Jaffa guard, who reveals that the weapon is on Dakara.

===Storyline===
Carter rescues Mitchell and Teal'c from the Jaffa guarding them. Before the three can similarly save Daniel and Vala, however, the warship takes off and jumps into hyperspace. Adria has decided to pay a lethal little visit to Dakara, and nothing Daniel or Vala can say will change her mind. Thus, as a grim last resort, Mitchell and Teal'c prepare to blow up the ship rather than let it score another victory for the Ori.

Adria’s massive Ori warship lands near a village and a Prior announces her arrival in front of a gathering of the villagers. The crowd cheers as Adria steps forward, now appearing to be a young woman with dark hair of about 21-24 years of age. In disguise within the crowd are SG-1.
On Dakara, Landry and Bra'tac are getting nowhere in their efforts to make Se'tak see reason. When the massive Ori ship appears in orbit, Se'tak leaps to the paranoid conclusion that Landry's people have stolen it in order to take the Ancient weapon for themselves. The critical Earth-Jaffa alliance is about to implode violently. And if that's the worst thing that happens today, Landry and SG-1 can count themselves lucky.

Adria is a strong, charismatic leader. Her speech is aimed at building up the armies of the Ori. But, while speaking, she senses something, an energy from on the surface of the planet. Even the crew members of the ''Odyssey'' nearby aren’t sure what the energy reading indicates and eventually, they have to leave the planet’s orbit for safety.

The energy wave kills 100,000 people &mdash; mostly the human inhabitants of the planet.

Jaffa, led by Bo’rel, attempt to take the Ori ship, but SG-1 gets there first. It was Bo’rel’s group who used a powerful Ancient weapon against those thousands of people. Gen. Landry and Bra’tac confront Se’tak on Dakara concerning Bo’rel’s actions in using the weapon, something the Jaffa had agreed not to use. As Carter works on the ship’s systems to engage the power, Bo’rel’s group of Jaffa exchange fire with Mitchell and Teal’c. The Jaffa outnumber Mitchell and Teal’c and soon the two are captured.

Daniel and Vala are together in another part of the ship and evade the Jaffa’s capture. Carter, alone in the ship’s control room, is being sought because Bo’rel heard her voice over the team’s radio. Bo’rel announces his intention to kill Mitchell and Teal’c if the rest of the team doesn’t surrender. Carter, uncertain what to do, is saved by Daniel’s attempt to negotiate with Bo’rel via the radio. He urges the Jaffa that they must work together to defeat their common enemy. A Jaffa patrol finds Daniel and Vala after Bo’rel refuses to work with them. Daniel’s attempt to negotiate gave Carter more time to work in secret. Just as the Jaffa begin escorting Daniel and Vala to Bo’rel’s location, Adria makes a reappearance.

Now in Adria’s custody, Daniel and Vala, along with one of the Jaffa who captured them, are at her mercy. She has great telekinetic powers, using them to keep Daniel from using a staff weapon on her. She immobilizes him with merely a thought and takes the staff weapon, killing the Jaffa to demonstrate its power. Adria knows the history of the Goa’uld and how they used Ancient technology — the staff weapon being one example.

Adria had been spared through her own use of technology, a pendant which she claims held a piece of Celestis that protects her and keeps her safe. The pendant is small and transparent and is shaped like the Ori symbol. Inside, there’s a viscous silver-blue liquid. Wanting to know what killed her people, she continues to extert her mental powers against Daniel, keeping him immobilized. She attempts to read his mind for information about the weapon, but he resists, much to her amazement. Vala, fearing that Adria was going to kill Daniel, reveals that they had not used the weapon. With this information, Adria decides to turn her attention to the Jaffa she just killed. She resurrects him and then begins her interrogation against him, holding back Daniel and Vala from interfering. Finally, the Jaffa tells her the weapon is on Dakara and she kills him again, but this time by snapping his neck.

As Mitchell and Teal’c are escorted by Bo’rel and his Jaffa, looking for the control room, Carter ambushes the Jaffa and soon Mitchell and Teal’c are freed. Eventually, Bo’rel realizes that he must work with the Tau’ri when the Ori ship takes flight and Mitchell claims it isn’t one of his people who’s doing the flying.

Adria wishes to convert Vala to Origin, claiming that if she cannot convince her own mother, she will have a difficult time of convincing the rest of the galaxy. Vala stubbornly refuses to accept the Ori and the possibility of being revered by all followers of the Ori as Adria’s mother. Adria says that she’ll be patient concerning Vala’s stubbornness, but when Daniel asks that she extend that patience to the rest of the galaxy, she states simply that they have a choice: they can choose Origin, or they can choose death.

In the meantime, Se’tak reveals to Landry and Bra’tac that he believes his methods are justified, since both the Jaffa’s and Tau’ri’s conventional weapons are useless against the Ori. Se’tak’s plan is to capture Ori ships, but the armies must be eliminated first in order to gain access. Se’rak proclaims that the cost of victory is great, but the cost of defeat is even greater.

The rest of the Ori fleet are on their way to join Adria who promises her mother that they will never be separated again.

*"We ended up breaking episode 7 today which either Paul and/or I will write. This one is going to be a lot of fun. Brad said it reminded him of Reckoning, and no wonder." &mdash; Joseph Mallozzi, November 28 Blog.
*"The plan was to finish one script and write the second one in January when we got back to the office, choosing one and letting Paul write the Atlantis and the third SG-1. Well, that was the plan but after a couple of days of R&R, I started to feel guilty, so I started the second script, Counter-Strike, which I believe has been slotted for the 7 spot. Lots of good emotion in this one, bonding, and a significant loss at episode's end. I'm kind of concerned about the visual effects budget on this one and will look to trim a little in my next pass." &mdash; Joseph Mallozzi, December 14 Blog.
*Vala will learn about [[Sha're]] and [[Amaunet]] [from either Daniel or Teal'c] in this episode. (Joseph Mallozzi, SG1Solutions, December 18)
*"As I was writing Counter-Strike, I realized that it was a surprisingly sober outing for one particular character and wondered whether it was a little too "down". I honestly can't see how it can't be given the circumstances. Still, we finally get to see the inside of an Ori ship and the story affords a bonding opportunity between two characters with a rocky past." &mdash; Joseph Mallozzi, December 21 Blog.
*"For instance, a while ago, a fan asked whether Daniel would be telling Vala about Sha're. At the time, my response was "it's possible" simply because the circumstances had not presented itself. Lo and behold, the proper circumstances did come along in Counter-Strike." &mdash; Joseph Mallozzi, GateWorld Q&A, December 22.
*Concerning the two characters with a rocky past who are given a bonding opportunity in this episode, Joseph Mallozzi says, "It's not Landry and Lam." (SG1Solutions, December 22)
*"This early, I can't assure anyone of anything with regard to who or what, exactly, is lost in Counter-Strike." &mdash; Joseph Mallozzi, comments section of December 21 Blog.
*"Finished the rewrites on Morpheus and Counter-Strike and will be reviewing them both this weekend." &mdash; Joseph Mallozzi, January 19 Blog.
*In answer to whether or not Daniel will be showing more patience and compassion toward Vala in Season Ten, Joseph Mallozzi stated, "There are some really nice moments along these lines in Morpheus, Counter-Strike, and Memento Mori." (SG1Solutions, January 20)

*"Also, and this is straight from the mouth of writer Joe Mallozzi, as far as the relationship between Daniel Jackson and Adria is concerned, their scenes in this episode kick off a through-line you’ll see all season. There are small moments, if you pay attention, that show that these two are going to have lots more to do with each other in the future. Wink wink. Nudge nudge. Say no more." &mdash; Alex Levine, script coordinator, scifi.com Blog, August 25, 2006.
