OPENING CREDITS: SG-1 DIRECTORS SERIES MARTIN WOOD FULL CIRCLE

EXT—TRAILER IN CIRCUS, DAY

[Wood exits a trailer, holding the camcorder to show his own face.]

WOOD
Here we are. It's Full Circle, and we're back on Abydos.

INT—ANUBIS'S HATAK

[Daniel tries to use his ascended powers against Anubis, but is pulled away by an unseen force. Anubis cowers.]

STUDIO SIX SET OF ANUBIS'S HA'TAK

[Either Shanks or the stunt double for Daniel is pulled away by wires and lands in a large pile of blue foam padding.]

EXT—LOCATION SET, DAY

[A test model of the pyramid explodes.]

EXT—ABYDOS, DAY

[The pyramid of Abydos is fired upon and explodes.]

UNKNOWN PERSON (WRAY DOUGLAS?)
Is there nothing she can't do?

[Tapping, in desert BDU costume, sits on a camera crane, studying the equipment.]

[Judge is told by someone how to aim the bazooka prop.]

[Teal'c fires the bazooka. A death glider dodges the blast.]

[Stick figures are shown on a piece of paper.]

[SG-1 walks over a sand dune.]

INT—STUDIO SIX SET OF PYRAMID

[Shanks, in Daniel Abydos robes costume, sits in a chair and waves to the camera, smiling.]

SHANKS
Hey.

UNSEEN WOMAN (TAPPING?)
Michael Shanks! Yay!

SHANKS

(still waving)

Hi.

CREDITS—DR. DANIEL JACKSON RETURNS

INT—STUDIO FIVE SGC SET, ELEVATOR

[A camera monitor shows coverage of Anderson by the elevator phone.]

WOOD
And...

ANDERSON/O'NEILL

(hitting receiver toggle)

Hello?...hello, hello?

WOOD
Action, Michael.

SHANKS/DANIEL
Jack?

[O'Neill/Anderson turns...]

[O'Neill turns around to see Daniel leaning in a corner of the elevator.]

DANIEL
Hi, Jack.

[O'Neill looks surprised.]

[The camera appears over Shanks shoulder, the wall behind Daniel and the one to the left of the camera are removed. A boom microphone is above both actors. The camera covers Anderson/O'Neill's reactions.]

SHANKS/DANIEL
Abydos is in trouble. Anubis is on his way. He's after the Eye of Ra. I have that replica Catherine gave me. It looks like this.

[Shanks/Daniel holds up the Eye of Ra prop.]

DANIEL
Now, I'm pretty sure the real one is located in some sort of secret chamber in Ra's pyramid on Abydos, but I'm not sure where exactly.

ANDERSON/ONEILL

(hanging up phone)

I could've sworn that was an aspirin I took.

SHANKS/DANIEL
Jack, it's me, it's really me. You have to find the Eye of Ra before Anubis does. I don't know, keep it, hide it, destroy it, it doesn't matter. We don't have much time.

[While Shanks delivers his lines, the camera focuses in on Anderson's reaction. Anderson/O'Neill suddenly straightens and turns.]

LATER

[Shanks looks directly at the camcorder, which apparently Wood is wielding.]

SHANKS
It's odd talking to you, Martin, when you have this "thing" in your face.

[Shanks moves his face extremely close to the camera lens.]

SHANKS
Martin?

[Still holding the camera and not onscreen, Wood chuckles.]

INT—ANUBIS'S HA'TAK

ANUBIS
I know who you are, Daniel Jackson, but you know not who I am.

[Anubis moves forward in an ominous manner.]

INT—STUDIO SIX SET, ANUBIS'S HA'TAK

[Crew mill around the set.]

WOOD
Now we're going to talk to Anubis.

[Wood, with camcorder, walks towards David Palffy, back to and wearing the Anubis robes costume.]

WOOD
Hey, Anubis!

[Palffy turns. His face, covered in green makeup, can barely be seen beneath the cowl.]

PALFFY

(in scary voice)

My lord.

WOOD
There he is.

[Anubis reveals his deformed ascended nature to Daniel, who appears shocked at the revelation.]

[Palffy removes his cowl. There are some red dots go across the bridge of his nose and cheek amongst the green makeup.]

WOOD
His green face is green because we have to track it to put in the black mask that he normally wears.

INT—ABYDOS PYRAMID

O'NEILL
You gonna kick his ass?

DANIEL
If I have to.

WOOD
David, you were also...who?

PALFFY
Sokar.

WOOD
Sokar.

PALFFY
That's right.

[Palffy grins.]

WOOD
But, because we killed you, and liked you so much, we wanted to bring you back.

PALFFY

(grinning)

That's right. And I'm grateful.

INT—ANUBIS'S HA'TAK

[Herak kneels before Anubis.]

HERAK
You are indeed all powerful, my lord.

WOOD

(turning the camera on himself)

Pfft. He's not scary. He's got a green face!

[Anubis places his hand over the weapon control.]

DANIEL
Stop!

[Daniel approaches. Herak fires his staff weapon, but the blast goes through Daniel.]

ANUBIS

(standing)

Stop me, if you can.

[The cameras film Palffy/Anubis stepping off the dais. A crew member wields a piece of equipment. Shanks/Daniel has his arms held outward.]

WOOD
And...lights go down.

[The lights on the set dim.]

[Daniel brings his outstretched arms forward, wielding light force in each hand. Herak appears frightened.]

ANUBIS
Strike me down. Do it now, or I will destroy Abydos.

[Daniel hesitates for a few moments, than brings his arms forward as if to strike Anubis with his energy.]

[Shanks/Daniel holds a pose with head raised, arms half forward as Palffy/Anubis raises an arm to his face and cowers slightly.]

WOOD
And...zap. Light goes down slightly.

[Shanks/Daniel lowers his head.]

[Daniel tries to attack but his energy blast is pulled back before it can reach Anubis. Daniel struggles, but he too is being pulled away, losing his corporeal form to turn totally into energy.]

DANIEL
No...don't do this!

[Shanks or his stunt double is yanked off his feet by wires and lands on foam mattresses.]

[Daniel is yanked away and disappears.]

[Everyone pauses on set.]

WOOD
Cut.

EXT—LOCATION SET

WOOD

Here it is, (checks watch)
Eighteen hours into it. We're in the second scene. We're about to blow a lot of crap up...I'm kinda hoping that the people who've been slowing us down...
(starts to chuckle)

I can't...I can't say this part on DVD.

[Wood looks at someone off camera and laughs.]

[Someone pours gasoline into a cylinder buried in the sand. Other crew are all around the area. Another crew member lets out a long cable from a box, walking backwards. More crew members fill in cylinders with gasoline. The sun is setting.]

WOOD
We don't have more than one day here. The sun's going down. It'll be down when I shoot this.

[A radio squawks with some unintelligible words.]

[The set is prepared to shoot Teal'c's sequence in the outside bunker. Some crew are crouched right before the bunker.]

UNKNOWN PERSON

(covering his ears)

Stand by...and...background!

[Al'kesh appear over the horizon.]

[Cameras shooting Judge/Teal'c with the bazooka is interspersed with the final episode sequence.]

[A death glider dodges Teal'c's blast.]

[A horizontal split screen shows the explosions on the location set in one screen and the final product with CGI spaceships in the other.]

[Cameras shoot Judge in the battle sequence.]

JUDGE/TEAL'C
O'Neill we are under attack. Ground forces have landed. We will not be able to hold them off for long.

INT—ABYDOS PYRAMID

O'NEILL

(keying radio) Roger that. (to Jonas)

You heard the man.

JONAS
I don't know what to tell you. I mean, if Dr. Jackson was here...

O'NEILL

Oh, he's here. Trust me. He's here. Son of a bitch. (loudly)

Hey! Where are you? We're only doing this because of you!

INT—STAGE SIX, ABYDOS PYRAMID SET

[Camera pans around Anderson.]

ANDERSON

(mimicking a sports announcer)

Incredible 360. Ah, so, he's going...he's going 720! He might be going for the 1440 record!

[The camera turns sideways as if falling over.]

WOOD

(off-camera)

Whoa! Aah.

EXT—LOCATION SET

WOOD
All right, good. That wasn't bad. It didn't suck too badly, did it?

[Judge and Abydonian extras stand idly at the bunker.]

WOOD
And action!

[Teal'c grabs one of the Abydonians and they begin to flee the bunker.]

TEAL'C
Fall back!

[Judge/Teal'c and the Abydonian extras run, the camera on a four wheeler running parallel.]

WOOD
Slow down, Chris, slow down.

[Judge slows to a jog. The camera vehicle moves in front of them, still filming.]

[Teal'c and the Abydonians flee. Teal'c aims and fires the bazooka.]

[Judge/Teal'c fires the bazooka with the camera tracking him.]

[The missile hits a death glider and the ship crashes directly behind Teal'c and the Abydonians. They stumble.]

[An explosion representing the crashing death glider happens some distance back from the cast. They react to the explosion.]

[Two of the Abydonians fall and don't get up. Teal'c drops the bazooka, but continues running.]

[The four wheeler finishes filming the shot.]

WOOD
Okay. Print one on that only. Let's move on.

[Wood groans and sighs at the camera before walking away.]

CREDIT—STAGING A BIG EXPLOSION

WOOD
Here we are out on Chulak (sic.), taking a break from storyboarding to look at a test explosion, for, uh blowing up the pyramid. We're actually using a model to blow the pyramid up, so we, uh, come out here to, uh, check it and see if it'll work. We hope that it works.

[Several blocks explode in a consecutive pattern, Assistant Director Jim Menard surveys the results.]

MENARD
What we're after is an explosion of biblical proportions.

[Wood chuckles.]

[Another group of sample blocks test fire.]

[Wray Douglas, special effects coordinator, appears on camera.]

CAMERA OPERATOR

(offscreen)

So, we're here with Wray Douglas, our special effects coordinator on Stargate SG-1. Behind him is James Tichenor, visual effects producer. Wray, tell me what's going on here today?

[Tichenor can be seen taking a photograph from close to the ground.]

[As Douglas talks, a close up of the model pyramid is shown. It is heavily wired at the corners and is about fifteen feet high.]

DOUGLAS

Well, we've spent the last week and a half loading ping pong balls with matchheads. We've strategically placed them around the pyramid. So, I believe, with a well placed quarter that we're going to throw at the ping pong balls to ignite it, I think that it'll produce a nice big flame ball, and we might actually blow up the pyramid. That's what I'm hoping for.
(Douglas shrugs.)

Done.

[A film camera sits in a half sphere on the sandy ground near the pyramid. The lens is aimed at the pyramid.]

UNKNOWN PERSON OFFSCREEN
This is the Ned Kelly crash box. Designed to protect the camera from the explosions. Obviously there's still a top piece to go on this. I'm just going to take a look.

[The camera lens looks into the viewfinder of the camera on the ground.]

[Anubis's ship fires on the Abydos pyramid. It explodes and the blast wave spreads across the sand dunes.]

CAMERA OPERATOR
Aftermath. Well Wray, what you expected?

[Douglas smiles and gives two thumbs up. Behind him, the crew approaches the remaining basic framework of the now exploded pyramid. One checks the camera.]

DOUGLAS
Exactly what I expected. Ping pong balls worked.

[Douglas again gives a thumbs up sign and walks away. The camera operator laughs.]

INT—STUDIO SIX SET

[Wood sits in a director's chair.]

WOOD
And...action!

INT—ABYDOS PYRAMID

[SG-1 stand in the Stargate chamber. Carter starts pressing the keys to the DHD.]

[The crew films Tapping/Carter pressing the DHD prop. A light simulating the Stargate effect flickers over the actors.]

[The Stargate kawhooshes.]

WOOD
Look, an active 'gate!

[Wood points. A spotlight hanging from the ceiling shines on a reflective panel that is on a tripod that holds it several feet in the air. Chris Jones, Best Boy grip, sits on the set staircase, holding the base of the tripod. The panel reflects the light at an angle down towards the set floor, near the actors. Wood approaches the panel. From a closer perspective, it is apparent the panel shimmers slightly, causing variations in the light reflection.]

WOOD

(off-camera)

That's how the puddle gets made. Share the enthusiasm of my life. This is the shimmerer.

JONES
Yeah, there it is, have a look. Every day. Good-good living, right here. Yep. Good living. Doesn't get any better than this.

[Wood laughs as he shows a close up of the shiny metallic panel before turning the camera back to Jones, then onto himself. Wood smiles.]

WOOD
We call him "Mr. Puddle."

CREDIT—STORYBOARDING

[NOTE: This sequence frequently intercuts between two different versions of the storyboard, as well as the filming of the scene and the final aired sequence.]

[Wood stands in a conference room, in discussion with storyboard artist.]

WOOD

(voiceover)

The, uh, storyboard process takes place partly in the board room when I sit down with the storyboard artist, partly in my head, partly in James's [Menard] head. What ends up happening is once the storyboards have been roughed in, then the sketch artist spends overnight or two nights and uh, finishes them for us, so that we can actually all decipher what they mean.

[The storyboard artist starts to sketch.]

[Storyboard depictions of the final scene of Full Circle are shown. Roughed in figures of SG-1, Abydos, and the Stargate are shown, with captions indicating the action. More detailed storyboards appear, including proposed camera angles for the shots (such as an view of Skaara face on over Carter and O'Neill's shoulders).]

INT—WOOD'S LIVING ROOM

WOOD

Those then go out to set. Occasionally. I take them and give them to people like Michael Greenburg and things like that who will need to look at them just to see what I'm doing. Because most people can't follow what I'm doing on set.
(Wood rolls his eyes and chuckles.)

Um, anyway, so what I'm going to do right now is show you the rough sketches and then show you the finished sketches and then you can look at the, um, finished scene and see how closely we came to what was in our brains sitting in the briefing room that day.

EXT—LOCATION ABYDOS SET

[Crew films SG-1 over the horizon as extras play on the sand dune set.]

[Storyboard sketch shows O'Neill looking at a camp below. Caption says "Looking on Tent as O'Neill enters frame."]

[Wood sits in a director's chair in the shade.]

WOOD
This is the soccer shot in the Abydonian village. You may not recognize this from the feature because this village never existed. They're nomads!

[Rough sketch of small figures moving to foreground. Other figures (the team) are already standing there. A note for kids on one side and a tent on the other. Wood points out the features.]

WOOD

(voiceover)

You'll note, kids are there. Important in the rough sketch too.

EXT—ABYDOS DESERT

[SG-1 walks over the crest of a sand dune and approaches a village. Some children are playing soccer as others go about their daily chores.]

WOOD
We'll follow them down to the village.

[Finished sketch labeled "Stargate Sc 57. "Full Circle" SG1 follows O'Neill down to the village." It depicts the four team members walking down to a tented village. Various areas indicate camera movement and angles.]

WOOD
And they sort of find some people in the village. It's important to see these kids playing ball down here.

[The camera pans down to a lower sketch labeled "SG1 walks down into village." The sketch shows the point of view of the villagers, watching SG-1 approach. It too has some shot movements labeled. Wood points out two children in the sketch running towards the team, chasing a ball.]

[SG-1 look around in bewilderment at the unharmed and calm villagers.]

JONAS
I guess everybody's all right.

[Jonas kicks the ball a bit with the children who move on and continue to play.]

WOOD
A close up of them all looking around, seeing the village exists again.

[Another sketch shows a close up of the team's faces. It is labeled "SG1 looks around... Jonas "I guess everything's all right."]

[O'Neill (in close up) looks around.]

[A rough sketch shows the basic outline of tents and people. It is labeled "Skarra to...cam..."]

WOOD
And then Skaara comes in.

[Skaara walks around the corner of a tent. O'Neill spots him and starts moving towards him. The team follows.]

[Filming of the cast as team approaching Skaara.]

ANDERSON/O'NEILL
What's um, what's going on here?

[Rough sketch shows a close up of Skaara.]

WOOD
Tight on Skaara.

SKAARA
Anubis destroyed the pyramid. Everyone was killed in the blast.

[The crew films Alexis Cruz as Skaara and Richard Dean Anderson as O'Neill talking. Anderson turns to the script supervisor standing nearby.]

ANDERSON
Line?

SCRIPT SUPERVISOR
They don't look dead...

ANDERSON/O'NEILL
They don't look dead to me. As a matter of fact, you don't either.

CRUZ/SKAARA
Death is only the beginning of our journey.

[O'Neill smiles and puts his hat inside his jacket.]

O'NEILL
That sounds familiar.

[Sketch shows team from over Skaara's shoulder. The sketch indicates a ball rolling to in front of O'Neill. The team are labeled "T, J, O'N, and C" over each of their heads and the side caption reads ""Full Circle" ...O.T.S. Skaara as child kicks ball to /cam."]

WOOD
When the final sketches is as good as it gets, the shot continues. The ball comes in...

SKAARA
Do not fear. You will find your way.

[Sketch shows O'Neill bending down to pick the ball up. It is captioned that the camera angle follows the character's movements.]

WOOD
O'Neill tilts down.

[Anderson as O'Neill bends down and picks up the ball that has rolled to his feet. The camera follows his movement.]

ANDERSON/O'NEILL
What do you mean?

WOOD

(unseen)

The village is gone.

[Anderson as O'Neill looks around, bewildered, as if he can no longer see the rest of the village, although in reality the set and extras are still there, and he is still surrounded by the film crew.]

[A sketch shows the team looking around bewildered with a caption of "Tilt up." and "Tilt to see the village is gone."]

WOOD
He stands up. Hey, the village is gone!

[O'Neill bends down to pick up the ball.]

O'NEILL
What do you mean by that?

[He stands up to find the village has disappeared. The only things that show what was there are the ball, and that Skaara is still in front of him. The team look around, bewildered.]

[Anderson ad libs while still filming on the village set, smiling wryly.]

ANDERSON/O'NEILL
Is this yours?

[Skaara takes the ball with a soft smile and takes a step back.]

SKAARA

(gesturing behind them)

The Chappa'ai will remain until you leave.

[O'Neill turns to look behind him.]

[Sketch shows close up of O'Neill turning his head.]

WOOD
They spin around and look at the Chappa'ai.

[Anderson as O'Neill turns back around as if to speak and pauses flabbergasted.]

[Sketch shows SG-1 turning back with surprised expressions.]

WOOD
Turn back, and...gone.

[SG-1 turns back to face Skaara to find that he too has disappeared.]

O'NEILL
Let's go home.

WOOD
And they walk off into the sunset in a big wide shot.

[Final sketches show the team walking off into the distance, approaching an active Stargate.]

[SG-1 walks back to the Stargate.]

[Wood and Anderson stand on the location set.]

ANDERSON

(to cameraman)

Ever the film maker.

[Anderson hangs his cap on the camera lens. Wood laughs.]
