Nick Marlowe was the actor who was cast in the role of "Col. Danning" in the cable TV show "Wormhole X-Treme" created by the alien Martin Lloyd, in the episode, 5.12 "Wormhole X-Treme". His character was supposed to be TV's version of Col. Jack O'Neill of SG-1.

When the show was turning into a tv-movie, Marlowe was being a tough negotiator, so much so that Martin and the studio were trying to figure out ways to have the movie without him (10.06 "200")  However, Marlowe agreed to reprise his role as Danning when the series was reprised.  He stayed with ''Wormhole X-Treme'' for eight of the ten seasons. According to his replacement, some people said he phoned in his performance on that last season.
