Geopolitical Structure and History

P3X-116 was a wooded planet. Sand dunes covered the area near the Stargate.

According to Tok'ra intelligence, the Goa'uld were scouting the planet for a new base. They notified the SGC in the course and scope of their alliance to confirm the information. The Tok'ra's intelligence neglected to mention that the Goa'uld scouting the planet was a personal nemesis of Teal'c's, Tanith.

SG-1 fled towards the Stargate, pursued by gliders and an al'kesh. O'Neill was injured during the retreat. Teal'c paused to provide cover fire for his team, but paused even longer when he could see Tanith in the cockpit of the al'kesh. He used the Goa'uld cannon he was carrying to destroy Tanith and the ship before following his teammates. The wrecked ship crashed into the Stargate while the wormhole was still active.

Teal'c's energy pattern had not reintegrated in the SGC by the time of the impact. While most times the receiving Stargate would be able to reintegrate the energy pattern with a DHD, the SGC did not use such a device, but had an Earth-made dialing computer. After close to 48 hours, SG-1 was able to borrow the Russian DHD and hook it up to complete Teal'c's energy pattern stored in the Stargate's memory buffers.
