Geopolitical Structure and History

PJ2-445 is a wooded planet with one sun. On the planet is a plant life form that is interconnected with many shoots that expand, contract and bloom. The plant releases a sound that can alter if it is in pain.

Also on the planet is an alien sentient life form who has an organ specially attuned to the sounds given off by the plants. The aliens of PJ2-445 live communally in small dome huts some distance from the Stargate and seemed unaware of its use. The aliens were a peaceful, docile, and curious people.

SG-1 did an initial survey of the planet, but did not travel far from the Stargate. PJ2-445 was the planet where the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) was first tested as a way to do initial exploration of new planets. The test flight came to a catastrophic end as sound waves inaudible to the human ear interfered with the radio signals of the UAV, causing it to crash into one of the plants. One of the natives found the UAV and brought it back to their village.

SG-1 visited the planet again, with pollen in the air heavily affecting Daniel Jackson's allergies. On this trip, the team encountered the natives, who began falling ill not too long after meeting the team. Dr. Fraiser and a medical team arrived on the planet to check out SG-1 and the sick natives. She brought one of the sickest aliens back to the SGC. Team members who remained on the planet also began to suffer from the inaudible sound waves. Eventually, the sound and networked relationship of the plants was discovered and the alien treated.

SG-1 returned to the planet with the recovered alien and set up equipment to change the frequency emitted, thus ensuring the symbiotic balance between plants and natives was restored.
