Many changes await the SGC has Brig. Gen. Jack O'Neill is promoted to head up Homeworld Security and appoints his replacement, Gen. Hank Landry. Daniel, Carter, and Teal'c have gone their separate ways for a while. Lt. Col. Cameron Mitchell joins the Stargate Program and finds himself quickly occupied with the missions of a partially-reunited SG-1 when a new enemy is revealed to Daniel in a vision—the Orii, evil ascended beings.
Daniel and Vala, still in the grips of the Ancient communications device, encounter a Prior, a zealous missionary and highly evolved human with zero tolerance for unbelievers.
