Stargate SG-1

Stargate SG-1 is the television series created by Brad Wright and Jonathan Glassner to carry on the adventures of Col. Jack O'Neill and Dr. Daniel Jackson from the MGM movie Stargate: A year after opening the Stargate, Dr. Daniel Jackson and Col. Jack O'Neill find themselves in the middle of a galactic war against an alien species that takes humans as hosts and enslaves them. The flagship team operating out of Stargate Command, SG-1, is formed to seek alien allies and technology to win this war against the powerful Goa'uld, who have ruled the galaxy for thousands of years.

Season One - Deep inside Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the Stargate remained silent for a year following its reactivation by Dr. Daniel Jackson. That all changed when the Goa'uld System Lord Apophis and his patrol of Jaffa warriors came through the Stargate, killed several guards, and kidnapped a female Air Force officer. With Earth directly in the sights of the powerful alien race, Stargate Command had no choice but to reactivate the base and establish teams to seek alien allies and advanced technology to defend the planet. SG-1 was formed under the solid leadership of Col. Jack O'Neill.

Season Two - The Goa'uld's attack on Earth reinforced the need for SG-1 and other Stargate teams to actively seek powerful alien allies and advanced technology to fight against this powerful enemy. The alliance established with the Asgard meant that the Goa'uld could be kept from directly attacking Earth, but many of Earth's allies didn't have this arrangement. As SG-1 continued to explore the galaxy through the Stargate, a chance meeting with the Tok'ra would forever change the dynamics of the war that these aliens had fought against the Goa'uld for the last 2000 years.

Season Three - Even the technologically advanced Asgard were in need of help from their Earth allies when the killing machines called the Replicators threatened to annihilate this peaceful alien race. But while some ground was gained in this fight, extreme personal loss and separation threatened to shake the solid foundation of the SG-1 team.

Season Four - Earth's desperate need to advance technologically in order to have any kind of fighting chance against the Goa'uld led to strife among nations, the government, and even the team. But at the end of this year, the team finally got their hands on one of the Goa'uld's powerful motherships. Keeping it, however, would prove to be one of the biggest challenges they ever faced.

Season Five - The team faced and met several challenges as they continued to come to the aid of their allies and other worlds in the fight against the Goa'uld. But in one short year, the Jaffa Rebellion, the Tok'ra, the Asgard, and the SG-1 team suffered some of the greatest losses they had ever known.

Season Six - After five years of studying alien technology, Earth finally achieved one of the greatest technological advances they had ever known: the ability to take the fight to the Goa'uld in space. But the former Goa'uld System Lord Anubis was further up the technological ladder and threatened to go even further at the expense of Earth's first alien ally, the Abydonians.

Season Seven - The search for the Lost City of the Ancients was prompted by Dr. Daniel Jackson's discovery of a stone tablet telling of its story, but not its name. Anubis was searching for the same city, one fabled to be of such great power that whoever possessed it would certainly gain dominance in the galaxy. The search led SG-1 to discover that the Lost City of the Ancients was the legendary Atlantis, but contrary to Earth's legends, that city was not located on the planet, but somewhere very far away.

Season Eight - A new expedition was sent to the location of Atlantis in the Pegasus galaxy, while those who remained on Earth had to adjust to many changes and disappointments: Jack O'Neill was promoted to Brigadier General and given command of Stargate Command, while the rest of his team continued exploring through the Stargate without him. What they encountered on the other side brought tremendous pain and suffering—and even death—but the victory they accomplished against the Goa'uld would forever change the course of galactic history.

Season Nine - Finally, the excitement of exploration through the Stargate resumed after several years of war with the Goa'uld. But a sleeper awakened unwittingly brought in such devastation that it made the war with the Goa'uld seem like merely a warm-up exercise. The Ascended Beings known as the Ori promised eternal life through ascension, but what they delivered was death of the most meaningless kind.

Season Ten - The Ori gave themselves a face of the most strikingly beautiful kind, but under the skin was a woman who was so evil that even her mother found it difficult—if not impossible—to love her. But help from an unlikely source enabled the team to make serious advancements in stopping the "convert or die" crusade that the Ori had unleashed in the galaxy. Unfortunately, the cost of making these advancements was terribly high for one of Earth's long-time alien allies.
