==Geopolitical and Structural History==
When SG-1 arrived on BP6-3Q1, Daniel believed the architecture indicated the inhabitants originally came from Earth.   Not much is known of the history of the planet, but given the architecture of the city where the Stargate was, their level of development was equivalent to Earth's, and perhaps slightly more advanced.

The civilization was doomed however by a plague of insects that overran the planet.  Once stinging someone, the person would become extremely ill.  His or her DNA would literally be overwritten, and the victim would mutate into several of the insects.  As the insects swarmed, they eventually killed all other life on the planet, including its human inhabitants.

SG-1 arrived on BP6-3Q1 to find a ghost town.  One insect attacked Teal'c, and the team barely escaped ahead of a swarm bearing down on them.  As Teal'c's condition worsened, his teammates returned to the planet to capture an insect and extract its venom so Doctor Fraiser and genetic specialist Doctor Timothy Harlow could develop a cure.  SG-1's mission was a success, and Teal'c recovered.
