Stargate Command has a new commander after Gen. Jack O'Neill is promoted to head up Homeworld Security and appoints his replacement, Gen. Hank Landry. Lt. Col. Cameron Mitchell joins the Stargate Program and finds himself the new commander of SG-1, as well as its only member. When the space thief Vala asks Dr. Daniel Jackson for help in finding an Ancient treasure linked to Arthurian Avalon, the makeshift team of Mitchell, Daniel, Teal'c, and Vala set off on a grand adventure which quickly turns life-threatening.
