What is a wiki?
The word wiki is Hawaiian for quick. It's used to describe the nature of browser-based editing which enables a registered user to submit articles without having to have an FTP account or much coding experience.
The Stargate SG-1 Wikipedia is driven by the MediaWiki program. This program is a combination of a database, parser, and webpage generator.
How do I use a wiki?
Use the navigation, search, and toolbox menus on the left-hand side of your screen. The Main Page is the first page you'll see when you come into our website via the http://wikipedia.stargate-sg1-solutions.com link.
To start searching, simply enter text into the search box and press your enter key or click on the GO button. You'll be sent directly to an article if it matches your search exactly or you'll be given a list of articles which contain your search criteria in either the title or content. Click on the item of interest and you're on your way!
The toolbox menu give you information about specific functions of the wiki program. Most users will not be needing these options, but you can explore them just the same. We suggest you use the "Special pages" option to give you an idea of what kind of reports the program generates.
