SG-1 Team

As of the end of Stargate Atlantis, the current members of SG-1 are Col. Cameron Mitchell, Dr. Daniel Jackson, Col. Samantha Carter, Teal'c, and Vala Mal Doran. Below is a list of all past and current members in rough order that they joined SG-1.

Maj. Gen. Jack O'Neill - Col. Jack O'Neill was the irreverent but heroic leader of SG-1 from its inception until his promotion to Brigadier General. Escaping the death of his son, he was on the original expedition to Abydos with Daniel Jackson. Once Daniel, Carter, and Teal'c arrived, O'Neill formed SG-1 and led it for seven years until, against all probabilities, he was promoted to Brigadier General and made commander of the SGC. After a successful year, he was promoted again, to Major General, and now heads the Department of Homeworld Security at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. He was last seen at the Tok'ra extraction ceremony of Ba'al, where he had donned the SG-1 patch for the occasion.
Dr. Daniel Jackson - Dr. Daniel Jackson is an archaeologist and linguist, an expert in ancient writing systems, languages and cultures. He is the intuitive genius who found the key to unlocking the Stargate and also made Stargate Command possible through his excavation of the Abydos Cartouche. He has been a member of SG-1 since its inception, except for his year as an ascended being. His return to human form was a boon to his team toward defeating the Replicators and the Goa'uld System Lords. His knowledge of the Ancients and past experience as an Ascended being were crucial to finding a weapon to defeat the Ori. Over his time on SG-1 he has acquired fighting skills to match his scientific ones, and battles alongside his military and warrior counterparts in every respect.
Col. Samantha Carter - Dr. Samantha Carter is a brilliant astrophysicist and officer in the U.S. Air Force. As one of few who understand how the Stargate works, she joined SG-1 as a Captain. She was promoted to Lt. Colonel and took command of SG-1 while O'Neill led the SGC. She transferred to Area 51 for a time, but rejoined SG-1 under the command of Cameron Mitchell when the Ori became a major threat. After the Ori were eliminated, Carter was promoted to Colonel and took command of Atlantis in the Pegasus Galaxy, where she remained for one year before returning to Earth. When the Wraith tried to invade Earth, she was at the SGC but planning to take command of the new ship General Hammond. She was wearing an SG-1 patch and so must still be a member of the team.
Teal'c - Teal'c is a Jaffa who was formerly the First Prime of the Goa'uld System Lord Apophis. When Teal'c met the humans of Earth, he saw that they had known freedom from slavery to the Goa'uld and decided to join them to fight against the false gods. He became the fourth member of the SG-1 team after its first mission to Chulak, Teal'c's homeworld. Teal'c remained loyal to the Tau'ri even as he endeavored to help his brother Jaffa live in freedom. He nearly gave his life to assuring the Jaffa became a free and functioning society, and then again to assure they would not fall to the Ori's domination in turn.
Jonas Quinn - Jonas Quinn is a native of the planet Kelowna (now named Langara) and was the fourth member of SG-1 for a time, replacing Dr. Daniel Jackson, who had died and ascended saving Jonas's homeworld from a nuclear holocaust. Jonas had special talents that made him a quick study, and he vowed to continue the work Daniel had started. After Daniel retook human form and rejoined SG-1, Jonas returned to his planet. Unfortunately Langara was conquered by the Ori, and whether Jonas survived that invasion is not known.
Col. Cameron Mitchell - As a fighter jock, Lt. Col. Cameron Mitchell led an F-302 squadron in the battle with Anubis over Antarctica. He was gravely injured in the battle, while protecting the lives of SG-1 as they gained access to the Antarctic Outpost and the Ancient weaponry. Mitchell was granted his choice of assignments after he recuperated. He chose SG-1 and was given command of the team, which had been disbanded before his arrival. He reassembled the three original members of the team once the war with the Ori began. After the defeat of the Ori, the team resumed first contact and exploratory missions through the Stargate, and Mitchell received a promotion to Colonel.
Vala Mal Doran - Vala Mal Doran was a thief and con artist when she met Daniel Jackson aboard Prometheus. A year later, she found Daniel at the SGC, and together they accidentally exposed the galaxy to the Ori. Vala was impregnated by the Ori and bore a daughter, Adria, whom she had to leave behind after Daniel rescued her. Vala was a probationary member of the SGC for a few months, offering her knowledge and experience as a former host to the Goa'uld Qetesh, an expert on the Lucian Alliance, and mother of Adria. She was given a position on SG-1 after she proved that she could be trusted and constructively contribute to team missions. Vala was married to Tomin, an Ori warrior who served Adria on one of the massive Ori warships, but the two agreed to go their separate ways after the Ori's defeat.

SGC Commanders

These entries are in order of command, up through the end of Stargate Atlantis.

Lt. Gen. George Hammond - Major General George Hammond was on his way to retiring when Apophis attacked the SGC. Suddenly the officer and gentleman from Texas found himself commanding one of the most significant endeavors in the history of the world: the Stargate Program. He led the SGC with wisdom and courage for seven years, when he was promoted to Lieutenant General and became the first head of the newly-created Department of Homeworld Security on behalf of the United States. A year later he retired from the military, then worked for the President as an adviser for several years. Shortly before the Wraith attacked Earth, Hammond died suddenly of a heart attack. A Daedalus-class starship is to be commissioned General Hammond in his honor.
Maj. Gen. Jack O'Neill - (see citation above)
Maj. Gen. Hank Landry - Major General Henry "Hank" Landry was hand-picked by Brig. Gen. Jack O'Neill to take his place as the commander of Stargate Command (SGC). As a former Vietnam War fighter pilot, Landry is familiar with the challenges of war and has been said to have a sterner attitude than the previous SGC commanders. He has studied the generals of history and has memorized many of their quotes, using them to break the ice with tough alien leaders upon first meeting them.

SGC Doctors

These entries are in order of presence at the SGC.

Dr. Janet Fraiser - Dr. Janet Fraiser was the Chief Medical Officer at the SGC for over seven years, until her untimely death while on an off-world rescue mission. She saved many lives, sometimes more than once. She defended her medical principles as strongly as her patients, sometimes in contradiction to near-term mission goals. She was fiercely protective of her adopted daughter Cassandra, and she was Samantha Carter's best friend. The pain of her absence is keenly felt if not openly acknowledged.
Dr. Carolyn Lam - Dr. Carolyn Lam is a civilian physician assigned as the Chief Medical Officer of the SGC. She is also the daughter of Gen. Hank Landry. Described as stubborn by her father, Dr. Lam has a very no-nonsense and sometimes cold demeanor, though there are brief moments of a dry sense of humor. However, she also exhibits a great deal of concern for her patients, both at their bedsides and in her efforts to maintain their health.

Allies

Here are individuals representing major allies of the SGC in rough order that the SGC learned of them.

Master Bra'tac and the Free Jaffa Nation - Bra'tac is Teal'c's friend and mentor and was once the First Prime of Apophis. He, along with Teal'c, led the Jaffa to their freedom and has become a highly-respected leader of the Free Jaffa Nation. He has joined the Tau'ri in the fight against the Ori and nearly killed himself and SG-1 in a suicide mission against them.
Thor and the Asgard - The SGC knew Thor as the Supreme Commander of the Asgard Fleet, a steadfast and brave ally who saved SG-1 and Earth many times, just as the SGC saved his 'little grey butt'. Thor was understated, patient, enigmatic, unsentimental and brutally honest. He had a fondness for the Tau'ri, especially for Jack O'Neill. He was an uncompromising warrior and always put the good of his people ahead of individual lives. Thor represented the Asgard as they gave the humans of Earth their legacy before the entire Asgard race died by mass suicide after their efforts in cloning resulted in an incurable disease.
Tok'ra - Father of Samantha Carter, the late Jacob Carter was a former USAF Major General when he was dying of cancer. Sam convinced him to live by becoming the host to a Tok'ra symbiote named Selmak. He became the chief liaison between the Tok'ra and the Tau'ri. Selmak was very aged, and both Jacob and Selmak died not long after helping defeat the Replicators by calibrating the Weapon on Dakara. Even after Jacob's and Selmak's deaths, the Tok'ra continue to honor their alliance with the Tau'ri.
Tomin of Ver Isca and the people of the Ori Galaxy - Tomin of Ver Isca in the Ori home galaxy found Vala Mal Doran on the ring platform of his village and took her into his home to care for her. After the Ori impregnated Vala, she married Tomin to cover her pregnancy. Tomin and Vala arrived in the Milky Way on one of the Ori warships, but soon after Vala delivered her daughter Adria, the two were separated. Vala joined SG-1 and actively fought against Tomin, who had become a Commander in the Ori army. Tomin decided to turn against the Ori and help SG-1 find the Ark of Truth to stop the Priors and the Ori army in their crusade. After the Ori's defeat, Tomin and Vala agreed to go their separate ways, with Vala staying with SG-1 and Tomin returning to his home galaxy as a leader of his people. The two galaxies, although quite far from each other, remain linked through Supergates.

Enemies

At present, all major enemies in the Milky Way have been eliminated, allowing SG-1 and the other teams of Stargate Command to resume peaceful exploration through the galaxy's vast Stargate network. Here is a listing of past enemies, in order of their defeat.

Replicators - The Asgard revealed the existence of their mechanical nemesis to SG-1, and the team joined in the fight against them because they were driving the Asgard close to extinction. The Replicators used technology to create more of themselves and eventually evolved into human form to resemble their creator Reese, a sophisticated android. The Replicators in both bug-like and human forms were utterly destroyed with the use of the Weapon on Dakara, but their blueprints remained in the Asgard Computer Core. The International Oversight Advisory (IOA) resurrected the bug-like version in their plan to destroy Ori warships from within, but that plan went awry when the first "bug" got loose on the Odyssey. Fortunately, the IOA programmer put in place a shutdown code, and this weaponized version of the Replicators was destroyed.
Netan and the Lucian Alliance - Netan was the leader of the Lucian Alliance, a coalition of former mercenaries and smugglers who joined together to take advantage of the power vacuum left after the defeat of the Goa'uld System Lords. Though he joined the initial battle against the Ori, he had a personal grudge against the members of SG-1 because the team was instrumental in thwarting many of his evil schemes. Netan was killed by a bounty hunter named Odai Ventrell, and the Lucian Alliance fell into chaos.
Adria and the Ori - Adria was the human spawn of the Ascended Beings known as the Ori. She had all the knowledge of the Ori that a human brain could hold, yet because she was human, her existence did not violate the rules of the Ascended. Her mother is Vala Mal Doran, who was impregnated without her consent. Adria was the Orici, who led the Ori's Priors and armies in their crusade to convert humanity into worshippers and to destroy those who resisted. Adria ascended and assumed all of the Ori's power after they were killed through the use of Merlin's anti-ascended weapon (called the Sangreal). After SG-1 discovered and used the Ark of Truth against the Doci and Priors in the Ori's home galaxy, Adria's power was greatly diminished, and the Ascended Ancient Morgan Le Fay overcame her. The Priors in the Milky Way were also exposed to the Ark, and their crusade ended.
Ba'al and the Goa'uld and The Trust - Known most for his torture of Jack O'Neill, Ba'al was the last remaining Goa'uld System Lord. He created several clones and used them to rebuild his empire in the galaxy. Some of them became high-power corporate businessmen on Earth, through infiltration of the rogue group known as The Trust. Ba'al had a sense of fun that was unusual in a Goa'uld, but his ultimate aims were typically selfish and diabolical. After the Goa'uld who infiltrated The Trust were found and Ba'al's last clone was extracted from his clone host, the Goa'uld System Lords were effectively eliminated. The original Ba'al himself traveled back in time to 1939 to put the galaxy under his rule using all the knowledge and technology of the current day, but he was killed by an alternate future version of Cameron Mitchell, whose actions set the timeline on its "correct" course that ultimately saw the end of the Goa'uld System Lords.
