Stargate SG-1’s newest buddy relationship catches the eyes of the press
In preparation for SciFi Friday’s return to new episodes tonight (January 6), various online TV reviewers have given their take on Season Nine’s “The Fourth Horseman Part 2”. Here are a few snippets of these reviews which emphasize one of the best things these reviewers think about the episode — the budding relationship developing between Daniel Jackson and Cameron Mitchell:
Seattle Times says, “Former Farscape star Ben Browder (Lt. Col. Cameron Mitchell) and SG-1 veteran Michael Shanks (Dr. Daniel Jackson) are developing some fun on-screen rapport…”
Chicago Tribune says, “The best part of SG-1’s return, in which the team fights a plague unleashed on Earth by the evil Ori, is the subtle comedic interplay between new cast member Ben Browder and SG-1 veteran Michael Shanks…”
In a tiny interview conducted with Michael Shanks by Dinah Eng of the Detroit Free Press, the following was said about the relationship developing between Daniel and Mitchell:
On the show, which airs Friday nights at 8 p.m., Shanks’ character acts as a mentor to the leader of the Air Force team that explores other planets and fights evil in the universe.
“With Ben (Browder)’s character, it’s a brotherly thing, which has a level of built-in antagonism and equal footing,” Shanks says.
Tune in tonight to the SciFi Channel at 8pm Eastern to watch SG-1 as they endeavor to save Earth from the Prior’s Plague!
