The Others are a group of Ascended Beings who have joined in a collective to enforce rules governing their interactions with those not on their higher plane of existence. They also include members of the race of humans known as the Ancients who built the Stargates millennia ago and who later learned how to ascend. The Others have only been seen manifested as dark storm clouds accompanied by brilliant lightning. They were introduced in the episode, 5.03 "Ascension".
