Today, August 5, is the day that two movies in which Stargate star DAVID HEWLETT has roles are opening on the big screen!
You’ll see him in The Whistleblower in a limited release (in California) in which he plays UN representative that’s involved in a sex scandal! The movie’s description at Yahoo! Movies: “Inspired by actual events, Kathy is an American police officer who takes a job working as a peacekeeper in post-war Bosnia. Her expectations of helping to rebuild a devastated country are dashed when she uncovers a dangerous reality of corruption, cover-up and intrigue amid a world of private contractors and multinational diplomatic doubletalk.” If you’re in California, make sure to check out the times at the Yahoo! site.
In wide release is the highly-anticipated reboot of the Planet of the Apes franchise. We’ve posted an extended trailer that features Hewlett in his Apes role, so we won’t spoil it here just in case you’d like to go into the theater spoiler-free. Yahoo! Movies has an extensive feature page for the movie, including clips and photos. Their brief desciption: “A single act of both compassion and arrogance leads to a war unlike any other — and to the RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES.”
