Due to obtaining a guest role on CBS’s CSI: Miami, Michael Shanks had to cancel two appearances previously scheduled for the coming week. After having to cancel his appearance in the London Expo last weekend, Shanks has also had to cancel his appearance at the Wolfcon SG-10 Convention in London and his Forbidden Planet signings.
Shanks sent this note to his fans via the Wolf Events website:
“To everyone attending SG-10, I want to extend my sincere apology that I have at the eleventh hour to cancel my appearance. This is not something I do lightly but it is unavoidable. I have spend most of today/night with Bryan on the phone trying to work out a plan but we have failed to find a way round my work commitment. After having to cancel the Expo last week I was so sure that there would not be a problem with SG-10.
I will be guest starring on the US hit series CSI Miami and was only booked yesterday and am required on set Friday.
Not the news I wanted you to hear but I do wish you all the best at the event and will be phoning into SG-10 to talk to you all on Saturday.”
Shanks will be guesting in episode 411 of CSI Miami. His publicist has confirmed for Solutions that he will be playing the role of Doug Stets, the landscape architect boyfriend of a haunted rape victim, Valerie Naff. Stets is one of those implicated in the death of the rapist in a possible revenge attack.
Episode 410 of the series is due to air on Monday 24 November 2005, so we can tentatively expect Shanks’ episode to air on Monday 5 December.
