A recent article published by SCI FI WIRE has announced that Season Four of Stargate Atlantis will have a fall premiere instead of the usual summer premiere that the show has had for the last three seasons.
Also included in the annoucement was the welcoming of Amanda Tapping and Jewel Staite to Atlantis. Tapping will be reprising her role from Stargate SG-1 as Lt. Col. Samantha Carter in 14 episodes of the 20-episode season. Staite will return as Dr. Keller (introduced in Season Three’s finale, “First Strike”) for eight episodes.
Filming of the fourth season will begin next month. SciFi describes the new season: “The new season will introduce a powerful new race, new cast members and mark the loss of beloved friends.”
