The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Stargate Universe had 1.5 million viewers for the premiere of “Space” on Syfy on Friday, April 2. According to them, “That’s up 11% from the show’s December finale, though still down 38% from the Universe series premiere.”
Universe was the lead-in to the second season premiere of Merlin, which had 1.3 million viewers, according to the report.

ETA: TV By The Numbers has a more detailed report that was included in the official announcement: “At 9PM (ET/PT), the SGU spring premiere was up 11% in total viewers versus the December 2009 fall season finale. The series also grabbed 936,000 Adults 25-54 (+11%) and 768,000 Adults 18-49 (+12%), while averaging a 1.2 HH rating (+9%).”
