Here’s a quick reminder to tune into FOX tonight at 8 PM ET/PT for the premiere of Joe Flanigan’s Change of Plans, a backdoor pilot that is part of Walmart’s and Procter & Gamble’s “Family Movie Night” series of movies that are meant to be “meaningful entertainment for the entire family.” Not only will the movie be on television tonight, but Walmart will give us another chance to support our Stargate star by having the movie’s DVD out in stores tomorrow!
From the movie’s home page:
Up to this point, Sally Danville’s life has played out just as she hoped it would. A beautiful and free-spirited musician, she and her fighter-pilot husband, Jason, live life on the go, free of domestic responsibilities. But with a single phone call from Child & Family Services case worker, Dorothy (Phylicia Rashad, The Cosby Show), she learns that things don’t always go according to plan. Sally (Brooke White, American Idol) is met with the news that her best friend from college has died in a tragic accident on a Peace Corps mission and has named Sally the legal guardian of her four kids – 3 of them adopted from third-world countries. Now Sally and Jason (Joe Flanigan, Stargate Atlantis) must quickly learn to parent this instant family and help the kids deal with the culture clash of life in America. The story is both humorous and heartwarming, revealing how fulfilling life can be when you look beyond your own plans and invest in the lives of others.
Can’t wait to see him, even though they’re making the movie sound like it’s centering around Brooke White. It’s been too long since we’ve seen Joe on TV. Loved his interview for ‘Change of Plans’, especially when he was speaking French. And loved that Rashad says ‘Joe is crazy’ but…’a consumate professional’. Joe seems pretty optimistic that he’s going to be portraying John Sheppard again. Sure hope he’s right. Hoping to see more movies with Joe in them. A little aside here…wouldn’t be incredible if Brad Wright was smart enough to enlist Joe into any plans to get SGA started again? One can always dream.
It’s definitely set on my DVR! I hope it gets great ratings. We need to see more Joe on TV!
Well I thoroughly enjoyed watching Joe in ‘Change of Plans’. It was interesting to see him in such a different role. Goes to show he’s very versatile as an actor. However, I kinda got used to him being the action hero type character he plays so fabulously, so it was a bit strange to see him being so…sedate? Yet I can imagine Joe being that kind of husband and father with his own real life family…only funnier. Like he said in his interview, his kids are ‘bang for the buck’ his best entertainment. I’d suppose Joe has a lot to do with why that’s so. Now…off to the store to buy ‘Change of Plans’.
