Shanks Starring in Another Mendeluk Film for Lifetime

Stargate star Michael Shanks has landed his third movie with director George Mendeluk for the Lifetime network, according to his official website (MSOL). The film, titled Desperate Escape, also stars Elisabeth Röhm (known for her roles in Angel as Detective Kate Lockley and in Law and Order as ADA Serena Southerlyn) as a women who suffers from amnesia. Shanks will play her character’s “loving husband”. Filming for the movie is set to wrap November 21.

Shanks’ other two films with director Mendeluk were also for Lifetime: Under the Mistletoe with Jaime Ray Newman (Atlantis’ Lt. Cadman) and Judicial Indiscretion with Anne Archer, which Mendeluk also wrote. MSOL has an interview with Mendeluk about working with the actor in their interview archives.

In the meantime, Shanks has two other movies that have been filmed but have yet to make their premieres. His most recent movie Lost Treasure of the Grand Canyon will make its debut on the Sci Fi Channel on December 20 at 9 PM with a repeat on December 21 at 2:30 PM. The movie Living Out Loud with Gail O’Grady about breast cancer will be premiering around Mother’s Day next year on the Hallmark channel.
