Reminder: S8 R1 Disc Replacement Deadline

This is a gentle reminder that you must have your request to replace the S8 R1 (North America) Disc 5 containing the shortened version of “Threads” postmarked by January 31, 2006! There’s still time!

The Check My Rebate website has the instructions. The replacement disc comes complete in a case ready to be placed into your boxed set. It contains all the same features as the previous version of the disc, except “Threads” is the longer version originally shown by SciFi in a 90-minute special presentation instead of the 60-minute syndication version which was placed on the old disc.

People who have bought the boxed set recently have said that their sets contain the longer version, but it wouldn’t hurt to check your set just to make sure.

  4. I got my “Threads” replacement disc, too! I sent my request in late December, and the turn-around time was pretty impressive.

    The R1 DVDs won’t be out for a while, I think. They probably won’t be released until October in the boxed set.

    The ones that are being publicized for Season Nine are the individual volumes put out for R2 (Europe +). The Season Eight individual volumes came out last year without the commentaries and Sony had to go through a lot of hassle to replace them. It was chaotic! Because of this, I’ve seen it where many people are going to wait until they’ve heard that the R2 discs contain commentaries and extras before buying.

  5. Thanx for the inf and yes you are right they are region 2 and dont have commentaries.how will i know if the box set will have the commentaries and extras????
