The first UK DVD release for Stargate’s Season 9 will be on Monday 27 March 2006. Advertised as both ‘Vol. 1 Season 9’ and ‘Volume 44,’ the DVD will feature the episodes Avalon Part 1, Avalon Part 2, Origin and The Ties That Bind.
Special features on the DVD will include: audio commentaries for each episode; “It Takes A Crew To Raise A Village” featurette; “SG-1 Directors Series: Avalon featuring Andy Mikita” featurette; photo and production design gallery.
The cover art for the DVD focuses on veteran actor Beau Bridges in his role as General Hank Landry, with Claudia Black as Vala Mal Doran in her distinctive dominatrix ensemble, Glastonbury Tor as backdrop and a smaller action shot of new boy Ben Browder as Lt. Colonel Cameron Mitchell locked in combat with Avalon’s guardian knight.
