Geopolitical Structure and History

The people of P4S-237 were enslaved by the Goa'uld and forced to mine naquadah for their "god" Lord Ba'al. However, Ba'al believed the naquadah vein on the planet had dried up and lost interest in the planet. All the naquadah that had been mined were being given to Lord Mot, who the people believed was Ba'al's emissary. Apparently, the lower Goa'uld Mot was keeping the naquadah for himself.

Ellori, the leader of the people, explained a prophecy where strangers would come through the Stargate and free the people from Ba'al's tyranny. He believed SG-1 were these prophsied strangers, although his advisor Chazen, scoffs at the notion.

It was also on this planet that Jonas Quinn started having strange precognition visions of the future, seeing things happen moments to minutes before they actually occurred. When he collapsed on P4S-237 after this first vision, SG-1 immediately brought him back to Earth, where Dr. Fraiser believed the visions were a latent side-effect of his exposure to Nirrti's DNA manipulation device.

In the meantime, the rest of SG-1 and SG-15 return to P4S-237 to try and help the people free themselves from Lord Mot's control. Intelligence from the Tok'ra Sina revealed that Ba'al was vulnerable enough Mot could decide to make an open move, including garrison of the planet. The two teams set up to ambush Mot's group when they arrive through the Stargate, but they don't realize that Chazen has alerted Mot to the plan. The teams are captured by the Goa'uld.

Natania, daughter of drugs the guards with a native herb, Kelmino root, and helps the teams escape the prison. Meanwhile, Jonas has another vision before going into brain surgery where he sees the SG-teams under fire while dialing into Stargate Command. Their attempt to reach Earth is a trap by which Mot will bypass the SGC's iris and invade the base. He tries to warn General Hammond before it's too late for the base and the unwitting teams.

Hammond is able to dial out to P4S-237, but cannot reach the teams and dares not send a rescue team without a sitrep. However, his call alerts Chazen, who checks on the prisoners. When realizing they've escaped, he calls out an alarm, putting everyone on alert and spoiling Mot's surprise attack. An angry Mot strikes Chazen with his ribbon device before being killed by Natania.

The people of P4S-237 plan a celebration to celebrate the teams victory freeing them from Lord Mot. After the unappetizing first meal, Col. O'Neill insisted they bring the food this time.
