The first direct-to-video movie produced after the cancellation of Stargate SG-1, Stargate: The Ark of Truth, will be making its US television debut tonight on the Sci Fi Channel at 9 PM.

Meant to wrap up the Ori story arc that was begun during Season Nine, this movie sees SG-1’s taking the Odyssey to the Ori’s home galaxy to locate a piece of Ancient technology, the Ark of Truth, that is believed to be able to stop the advance of the Ori’s destructive and deadly army. Having no confidence that SG-1’s mission will succeed, the IOA develops a dangerous plan of their own.

Stargate: The Ark of Truth was written and directed by Robert C. Cooper and stars the Season Ten cast. The Sci Fi Channel has also promised a sneak peek into the franchise’s upcoming television series, Stargate Universe, which is making its debut in the fall on their newly-renamed Syfy Channel.

  1. The age of long running-running dramatic television series is come to an end!! BSG is no more!! The best 1 hour drama television series ever!!!!

  2. Unfortunately, they didn’t show the sneak peek, but promised a sneak peek during next week’s airing of Continuum! Instead, they showed the same teaser that was shown last week during Battlestar Galactica.

I’m disappointed that they took this advertising route, but it certainly was “clever”.
