Friday and Saturday (November 12 and 13) will be big days for Stargate Universe as the co-creators and cast celebrate the production in Canada in anticipation of the 25th Annual Gemini Awards Broadcast Gala. Spacecast, the Canadian home of SGU, has a rundown of the schedule of events designed to give fans access to Space’s “most-watched series.”

As executive producer Joseph Mallozzi informed his readers, “Fans in Canada have to wait until Friday night to check out The Greater Good, but they also get an extra treat when the entire cast puts in an appearance on Innerspace immediately following the show.” This is the show that was taped earlier in the day.

“SGU [is] up for four marquee awards, including Best Dramatic Series, two for Best Lead Actor and Best Director. In total, SGU received a series high nine Gemini Awards this year, tied for second for most nominations for a drama behind CTV’s hit series FLASHPOINT. Since its series premiere in October 2009, SGU is the most-watched series on SPACE. The series is also critically acclaimed, and nominated for 22 awards, including a 2010 Emmy® for Outstanding Visual Effects.”

The other five nominations were from the categories Best Photography in a Dramatic Program or Series, Best Picture Editing in a Dramatic Program or Series, Best Sound in a Dramatic Series, Best Visual Effects, and Best Original Music Score for a Program or Series, but none of these awards were taken home.
