You now have until April 30, 2006 to request “Threads” replacement disc

MGM/Sony replaced the shorter version of “Threads” in the R1 (North American) boxed set for Season Eight with the full length episode after customer complaints.

It has been reported that the boxed sets being produced now include the longer version, so no request for a replacement disc is necessary.

But, if you happened to have recently purchased a boxed set and it contains the shorter version, you have another chance to get a replacement. In their new replacement program, MGM/Sony is replacing the shorter version “Threads” in boxed sets purchased from October 4, 2005 to March 31, 2006.

How can you tell if you have the longer version? If Ba’al and Anubis are in the opening scene, you have the longer version. If your episode starts out with Jack and Sam, you have the shorter version.

The first UK DVD release for Stargate’s Season 9 will be on Monday 27 March 2006. Advertised as both ‘Vol. 1 Season 9’ and ‘Volume 44,’ the DVD will feature the episodes Avalon Part 1, Avalon Part 2, Origin and The Ties That Bind.

Special features on the DVD will include: audio commentaries for each episode; “It Takes A Crew To Raise A Village” featurette; “SG-1 Directors Series: Avalon featuring Andy Mikita” featurette; photo and production design gallery.

The cover art for the DVD focuses on veteran actor Beau Bridges in his role as General Hank Landry, with Claudia Black as Vala Mal Doran in her distinctive dominatrix ensemble, Glastonbury Tor as backdrop and a smaller action shot of new boy Ben Browder as Lt. Colonel Cameron Mitchell locked in combat with Avalon’s guardian knight.

   
After a production delay, the 2006/2007 15 month ‘Official’ Stargate SG-1 calendar from Creation Entertainment is available and shipping now.

The large, full-color calendar begins with a single page covering the months of January-September 2006, then has full-page entries for each of October 2006 through December 2007, making it essentially a 2-year calendar. The cast members are all well represented, both in the large single pictures and in the sets of smaller pictures at the bottom of each page.

After much consideration, I’ve decided to sell several loved and cared-for items from my Michael Shanks memorabilia collection. This is only because my parents are having their Golden Wedding Anniversary in March of this year and I’m looking to raise some money towards a memorable celebratory gesture for them. The items are all authentic and original, and offered to fellow fans in good faith.

I’m offering one autographed photograph of Michael as Daniel in the famous arm-porn episode “Beneath The Surface” and a rare, gorgeous candid shot of him from the Fan Odyssey convention of June 2003 – you guys will know the shot 😉 Swoony blue eyes.

The best and rarest item I have for sale is one of Michael’s acting resumes complete with a stunning, sexy black&white casting headshot that’s iconic and instantly recognisable 🙂 You’ll have seen imitations on the net, but the original is rarer than hen’s teeth! Michael hasn’t exactly gone out for a lot of roles since his return to Stargate SG-1, as we know. It definitely gives me a pang to part with this but it’ll be well worthwhile when the folks have their anniversary in March.
