Olokun was one of the seven System Lords who met to discuss the attacks on them by an unknown rival Goa'uld. Each of the System Lords had suffered various losses, but no one knew the identity of their attacker. Osiris appeared at the meeting and informed the others that the attacks had been a show of power by Anubis, who was seeking admittance to the inner circle of the ruling Goa'uld. By Anubis's offering to destroy Earth as his payment for joining their ranks, Olokun cast his vote in favor of allowing Anubis to regain his former position among the System Lords. (5.15 "Summit", 5.16 "Last Stand")
Anubis later created his army of Kull Warriors, and the Tok'ra and Tau'ri discovered that the technology he used was based off the same Ancient technology used to create the first sarcophagus: the Telchak Device. Somehow, the news that the Tok'ra and Tau'ri were making a device to counteract the life-giving energy of the Kull Warriors at the Alpha Site got to Anubis, and he sent Kull Warriors to the Site to destroy that technology. The Alpha Site was not only home to the Tau'ri, but also to the Rebel Jaffa and Tok'ra, and all three sides suffered major casualties in Anubis's attack (the commander of the Site activated the self-destruct). The Rebel Jaffa and Tok'ra accused each other of revealing the location of the Alpha Site because there were missing Jaffa and Tok'ra who had infiltrated the ranks of Olokun. How Anubis discovered the location of the site remained a mystery, but the Rebel Jaffa and Tok'ra both decided to leave the Alpha Site, placing a strain on their alliances with the Tau'ri. (7.16 "Death Knell")
After Anubis's defeat by the Tau'ri (7.22 "Lost City Part 2"), Ba'al's greed for power caused a war among the System Lords, and Bastet and Olokun were killed, Morrigan capitulated, and Lord Yu and Amaterasu attempted to rally their armies for their last stand. What Ba'al and the others didn't know was that the Replicators were on their way to conquer the galaxy, with the Goa'uld as their primary target because of their advanced level of technology. Additionally, no one knew that Anubis had returned to the scene with Ba'al acting as his lieutenant. (8.13 "It's Good To Be King", 8.16 "Reckoning Part 1")
The Replicators immediately attacked and killed the last remaining System Lords who sat on the Goa'uld's High Council, including Lord Yu. They then began spreading throughout the galaxy, attacking and taking control of every ha'tak they encountered. Anubis and Ba'al sent a great mass of their fleets to fight the Replicators, but the battle was extremely one-sided because the Replicators were relentless. With Ba'al's help, the Tau'ri and Tok'ra eliminated the Replicators, but the System Lords' powers were reduced significantly in the war's aftermath, with only Ba'al's domain remaining somewhat intact.
