Summary
Dr. David Jordan was Daniel Jackson's mentor at the Oriental Institute in Chicago. He was killed by an explosion resulting from a gas leak. It was later determined that his death was actually a murder committed by the Goa'uld Osiris who had taken Dr. Sarah Gardner, one of his research assistants, as host when she opened the canopic jar into which the symbiote had been banished. Dr. Jordan was also the mentor to one of Daniel's rivals, Dr. Steven Rayner. Dr. Jordan was introduced in the episode, 4.14 "The Curse".
