Geopolitical and Structural History

Reetalia was the home of the Reetou. It was a beautiful world until savaged by the Goa'uld. After the attack, a group of Reetou wanted to destroy the Goa'uld through attrition–by destroying worlds with human hosts. Their opinion was a minority, and the rebel faction left to P63-2031.

The rest of the Reetou determined the humans should be warned. One later named "Mother" created "Charlie", a genetically manipulated and created human boy who could see and hear the Reetou to act as intermediary and communicate with the humans. Observing humans on other planets, she encountered SG-1 and followed them back to the SGC from an offworld mission. Since Reetou's exist slightly out of phase with our reality, Mother remained at the SGC unobserved. After she witnessed Jack O'Neill's handling of the Great Spirits and Tonane, she determined he was an individual to be trusted.

Charlie, though not fully adult, was sent earlier than planned. His genetic coding was breaking down, so he was sent to Stargate Command while still a boy. Mother, able to manipulate things in our reality, commandeered the iris control to allow Charlie to arrive to the SGC from Reetalia. Mother later died at the SGC by an attack by Rebel Reetou, and Charlie was taken to the Tok'ra to try and stop his genetic breakdown. Learning the existence of the Reetou and Mother's actions in allowing Reetalia access to the Stargate enacted the handprint protocol lock for the iris control.
