The trailer for the upcoming Syfy movie The Other Side, starring Joe Flanigan, is now up on YouTube. Joe filmed this movie in Ireland in August of 2010.
The premise of the movie is:
It was a groundbreaking device designed to glimpse alternate universes and government commissioned by a brilliant physicist. But the machine malfunctioned on its first presentation, transporting a group of observers into a nightmarish new dimension. The team quickly must use ingenuity and courage to outwit, outplay and outlast the native man-eating creatures of this bizarre new world while doing their best to repair the damaged machine. Even if they stay alive, without a working transport, they may never make it back home. •••• Starring Joe Flanigan (Stargate: Atlantis) John Rhys-Davies (Lord of the Rings) and Catherine Walker (Leap Year) ••• Premieres on Syfy in 2011.
At the 2010 LA Creation Con, Joe said that he and the director decided to add a lot of humor that wasn’t precisely in the script. A bit of that is present in the trailer, but it overall has a more serious tone than Joe had described.
We’ll keep an eye out for any news of the movie airing on Syfy in the US, where it will premiere sometime this year.
Wow! I’m impressed. Great seeing Joe in uniform again…plus love that off white bracelet he loves to wear. Love it when he says…”Crap!” Looks like a good sci-fi movie. Can’t wait to see it. The trailer does a great job setting up tension and the music and sound effects are fantastic. This is the one he was in Ireland to film, right? Where he and Jason Momoa got together one weekend. Wish Joe would return to twitter. Anyway, hope this movie is shown soon. Really really miss seeing Joe more often. Wasn’t he working on his own TV series pitch?
Hah, you gotta love they bring back to John Rhys-Davies when they are redoing Sliders :o)
Although his role seems to be small.
Good idea of Flanigan to try and inject humor, that’s what you need to rescue things like that – but if there isn’t much in it I predict another lowrated turkey.
I just don’t want to see him do a lot of this kind of stuff as I believe he is more talented than made of SyFy ‘films’ and I use the term loosely
John Rhys-Davies has not done anything decent since LOTR films…………
I don’ want Joe to go down that same path.
COP was bad enough.
