MGM/Syfy.com Official Summary
Everyone is shocked when a member of the crew is found dead from a gunshot wound. While at first glance it appears to be suicide, the gun is nowhere to be found. The crew is confined to quarters while a search is performed and when the gun shows up in Col. Young's quarters, he becomes the number one suspect. Fearing a mob scene, Young agrees to a trial and cedes command to Camile Wray.
Dr. Rush convinces Wray to give him control of the science team and carte blanche with the new Ancient interface, previously kept under guard. But before Rush can unlock its secret, or Young's trial can conclude, both are needed to explore a planet hiding a secret that threatens the Destiny and her crew.

Production Notes
- "At a little after 11:00, we convened in the writers’ room and started spinning Alan’s story. We broke for lunch, then resumed the discussion on shipboard justice and the ever-developing interrelations among the crew. Factions, fractions, and surprising revelations. By the time we called it a day, we had beaten out Alan’s story." — Joseph Mallozzi (November 17, 2008)
- "So far, Martin, Carl, and Alan have put out outlines (and I’ve already provided notes on all three)..." — Joseph Mallozzi (December 5, 2008)
- "Of the first ten episodes broken, we have a grand total of 0 forested planets. I’m not saying we won’t, eventually, come across one but, for the time being, the emphasis is on the ship and some locations atypical of Stargate. As a matter of fact, Executive Producer Robert Cooper and Director Andy Mikita are in New Mexico as we speak, scouting a cool-looking alien setting." — Joseph Mallozzi (December 19, 2008)
- "Alan reports that he is well into the third act of his script." — Joseph Mallozzi (January 7, 2009)
- "Well, back in the office today where we spun what will be episode #7. It made sense for it to follow the events of Earth, so we moved it up and shifted the other episodes. For those of you worried, fear not. The mid-season two-parter will still fall in the mid-season two-parter slot." — Joseph Mallozzi (January 30, 2009)
- "Paul has landed the polish of episode #9..." — Joseph Mallozzi (February 12, 2009)
- "My writing/producing partner Paul walked into my office, plunked himself down on the couch, and started talking about his rewrite on the Judgment script. As he sat there, chatting away, a question immediately popped into my head that had nothing do with the kino or Rush’s character of the big fourth act WTF moment. ... " — Joseph Mallozzi (March 6, 2009)
- "Ooops. Carl poked his head into my office and corrected my faux pas. Episode #9 isn’t called Judgment as I originally reported (although I think that Judgment is a more appropriate title). Rather, #109 is titled Justice." — Joseph Mallozzi (March 9, 2009)
- "Also on Monday, we’ll be discussing Paul’s rewrite of Justice. It’s a very strong script and, going by the consensus preliminary response, he should have an easy time implementing any notes." — Joseph Mallozzi (March 13, 2009)
- "Well, I finally got the notes on my first draft of Space (now episode 11). At 54 pages, the script is way too long and Rob had some helpful suggestions for trimming down the dialogue. I’ll have to make a slight adjustment to Wray’s attitude in line with Paul’s pass on Judgment [sic]..." — Joseph Mallozzi (April 27, 2009)
- "Episode 10 is now Justice." — Joseph Mallozzi (April 29, 2009)
- "...I did manage to squeeze in some Stargate-related work. Read ... Brad’s pass on Justice (He dedicated the opening scene to me since, as Paul pointed out, it’s something would do. I’m touched.)..." — Joseph Mallozzi (May 11, 2009)
- "So, today in broad strokes: Prepping Justice = Brad Wright producing/Will Waring directing." — Joseph Mallozzi (May 20, 2009)
- "The quiet suspense of today’s shipboard mystery was in marked contrast to the gloomy, dank, heavy ordnance-laced mayhem of the preceding days. ... Now, we shift focus from the dark and dangerous alien environment of Time to the shocking discovery and troubling developments presented in Justice. Will Waring is doing the honors here, directing an episode that promises more than a few surprises in addition to decisions both startling and unsettling that will have far-reaching consequences for the Destiny crew. Rob will be doing the pass on my script, Space (episode 11), this weekend and informed me of a few character additions he wants to make off the top (which tie in directly to Justice)..." — Joseph Mallozzi (May 29, 2009)
- "Director Will Waring continues to shoot episode 9, Justice this week." — Joseph Mallozzi (May 31, 2009)
- "Director Will Waring and co. were away shooting on location." — Joseph Mallozzi (June 9, 2009)
- "Hot day & I'm wrapped for Justice. Space is next. Had a 'Holy ****' moment when I considered what we were filming. You're going to love it." — Patrick Gilmore, Twitter (June 9, 2009)
- Joseph Mallozzi's entry for July 30, 2009, has a picture captioned, "Setting up to shoot a scene from Justice, Episode #10."
- "One of our characters becomes the prime suspect in a crime, and, for lack of any other way to proceed, is put on trial. Our characters are forced to develop their own system of justice in order to determine if this individual is innocent or guilty. The episode then takes a sharp turn, which I don't think anyone will see coming, and ends on an unbelievable cliffhanger. I think it'll be a great shock, and a tease for the next two episodes ["Space" and "Divided"], which I've heard are terrific!" — Alan McCullough, Official Stargate Magazine Sampler, available October 2009.
