Summary
Major Waite was the commander of SG-3. When General Hammond temporarily retired, General Bauer took over command of the SGC. He reassigned some personnel, including Teal'c to SG-3 under Major Waite.
Bauer was determined to get some refined naquadah, so he ordered SG-3 to P3S-452, a Goa'uld stronghold, to retrieve some. The team was able to retrieve some naquadah, but at a heavy price. Major Waite was killed during the mission. One of his subordinates, Lt. Morrison, was also injured while providing cover fire.
