Jack O'Neill: Hobbies
Jack's hobbies include fishing (3.22 "Nemesis Part 1", 4.14 "The Curse", and 6.13 "Sight Unseen", 8.18 "Threads", 8.20 "Moebius Part 2") and astronomy (1.15 "Singularity"). He keeps a telescope on the viewing deck of his house in Colorado Springs (1.01 "Children of the Gods Part 1"). Vacation time is usually spent at his cabin in Minnesota, by a pond where he likes to fish. Only recently were there discovered any actual fish in the pond, however (8.20 "Moebius Part 2"). In any case, it is simply the act of fishing that he enjoys (4.14 "The Curse").
Given that his son Charlie played baseball, it is likely that Jack played at one time as well, if not currently (3.13 "The Devil You Know Part 2").
Jack has been known to juggle when bored silly, and took up pottery at one point (4.06 "Window of Opportunity"). He also likes cycling, and, during this same time period, was seen riding in the base corridors. He also plays chess (3.04 "Legacy", 3.18 "Shades of Grey"). He enjoys a friendly game of poker as well (8.14 "Full Alert").
He speaks passable Spanish (7.12 "Evolution Part 2"). He may speak Italian (3.05 "Learning Curve"), though with Jack one can never be quite sure without asking him directly and, sometimes, not even then. He learned to speak both Latin and the language of the Ancients (4.06 "Window of Opportunity").
He is apparently fond of riding motorcycles, since he told General Landry he was going to sell his motorcycles along with his house before moving away from Colorado Springs (9.01 "Avalon Part 1").
