Geopolitical and Structural History

P9Q-281 is a desert world on a binary planet where Ancients were located long ago.

After Col. O'Neill had the Ancient Repository of Knowledge downloaded into his brain, he entered several new Stargate addresses into the SGC database, many of which were not on the Abydos Cartouche.

Probes began to be sent to these new locations. P9Q-281 had a pedestal near the Stargate with symbols on it matching the alien language that O'Neill was speaking (i.e. "Ancient"). SG-1 was sent in the hopes they would encounter the race of people who had created the Repository of Knowledge and be able to help O'Neill. With O'Neill unable to communicate in English anymore, and Daniel the closest thing to a translator, the pair remained behind, and Maj. Castleman and another airman joined Capt. Carter and Teal'c on the mission to the planet.

Of course, the Ancients were long gone from the world. Unfortunately, the MALP did not reveal the second sun on the planet, and when it rose, it revealed the planet would get much too hot for anyone to survive, rising over 200 degrees Farenheit in a few hours. To make matters worse, the DHD seized up in mid-dial, trapping SG-1 on the planet. Teal'c's attempt to manually dial the Stargate failed, and no shelter could be found., nor any information that could help O'Neill.

O'Neill however, was able to help them. With the Gate builders' knowledge inside his head, after Daniel showed him footage of Sam's explanation of the problem, Jack was able to create detailed schematics that fixed the DHD. The SGC sent the information to the trapped team, who was able to fix the Stargate and return home.
