Kallana
Summary
Kallana was a planet inhabited by a settlement of Free Jaffa. It was the location where the Ori tried to establish a beachhead into the Milky Way galaxy. Their actions and the Jaffa's resistence made the atmosphere toxic, killing all the inhabitants. The planet was later destroyed when effected by the gravity pull of a black hole on the other side of the planet's active Stargate.

Geopolitical Structure and History
Kallana was a desert planet claimed by a settlement of free Jaffa. A Prior visited the planet, giving the population a copy of the Book of Origin and trying to convert the population. He threatened retribution if they did not. The Jaffa refused to trade one false god for another and fired their weapons at the Prior. The blasts were absorbed by an invisible force field. Using his staff, the Prior telekinetically threw the Jaffa backwards into the sky until they disappeared into the horizon.
A blue energy field formed a boundary around the Prior and the Stargate. Unbeknownst to those who resisted, any blast directed at the forcefield only fed its energy. Additionally, the other side of the wormhole was connected to a black hole, so the Kallana Stargate remained active for days.
The Goa'uld Nerus approached the SGC and informed them of the existence of the energy field and continuously active Stargate on Kallana, though at that time, none could explain how the thirty-eight minute window to keep a Stargate active was overridden. Nerus explained the Kallana energy field was increasing in diameter at regular intervals. Nerus proposed the SGC use their most powerful weapons to throw at the Prior and stop the field from expanding further. Though General Landry and the others did not trust Nerus, they were concerned about the greater threat the Ori posed and decided to take action. They were unaware that Nerus was in league with the Ori.
Teal'c contacted the Jaffa High Council at the rumored attack on one of the free Jaffa planets, but received no response. Lt. Col. Samantha Carter left Area 51 with the newest most powerful weapon on Earth, a Mark IX naquadria enhanced nuclear warhead, and joined Lt. Col. Mitchell, Dr. Daniel Jackson, Teal'c, and Vala at the SGC. Several attempts to dial the gate at Kallana failed, so the team gated to P4C-452 and rendezvoused with the Prometheus, which transported them to the planet.
The atmosphere within the energy field was toxic. Presumably the same forcefield that protected the Prior from the weapons' fire also protected him from the atmosphere. There were no other life signs on the planet. Due to a weakening during each expansion phase, a small window of opportunity allowed the Prometheus's Asgard beam technology to permeate the energy field every thirty minutes. Cameron, Daniel, Teal'c, and Vala were beamed down to Kallana in space suits with the Mark IX weapon.
The team confronted the Prior, but neither side gave ground. While Mitchell and the others were there, Gerak's ha'taks arrived and instantly started bombarding the planet with fire. Though the correlation was still unnoticed by the Jaffa and the Tau'ri, the weapons' fire created another expansion phase in the energy field. The Prometheus took advantage of this window of opportunity and beamed their team out after the Mark IX had been set to Mode 3.
A few minutes later, the Mark IX went off, vaporizing everything within a hundred mile radius of the Stargate, including the Prior. However, the Stargate itself remained active, floating on the now molten crust. The Mark IX blast wave fueled the energy field to give it 70% of the energy it needed to envelop the entire planet. Col. Carter did not realize this correlation until weapons' fire from Prometheus and Gerak's ha'taks provided the rest of the energy needed to engulf Kallana.
Once the energy field encased the entire planet, several unmanned ships flew through the wormhole into orbit around the planet, colliding with anything in there way. This caused damage to Gerak's mothership and Prometheus and destroyed two other ha'taks. Gerak retreated and the Prometheus backed out of orbit temporarily until assured of no further collisions. The Ori ships started linking together to form a giant supergate in orbit above Kallana, large enough for massive starships to pass through.
Vala Mal Doran came up with an idea to break the links in the chain, but could not get anyone's attention in time, so she took action on her own. Her efforts foiled the Ori's attempt to create a Supergate. The gravity of the black hole connected to the Stargate caused Kallana to collapse into itself and form a microsingularity. Due to Vala's efforts, this energy did not fuel the supergate, but instead caused it to break apart.
Nothing was left of the planet Kallana after this battle. A black hole was formed in its place.
An SG-1 from an alternate reality directed a wormhole from their universe directly through the Kallana black hole and sent a blast from an Asgard energy weapon through the active wormhole (9.13 "Ripple Effect"). The process allowed them to jump realities into this universe. It also ended up pulling SG teams from other realities into this universe. Carter, believing these events were accidental, theorized the first spacial tear may have caused a ripple effect across several realities, transforming an area of the alternate SG-1's subspace into a kind of funnel. Any wormhole passing close enough to the black hole was drawn into the singularity and re-routed to this reality.
SG-1 and the alternate SG-1 went to the location of the black hole (formerly Kallana) in Prometheus. They hoped to destroy the black hole, using another Mark IX Gatebuster and the Asgard time dilation device, but the mission was very risky. However, the mission was aborted when the alternate SG-1 revealed they had created the space-time rupture on purpose to steal a ZPM from this universe to save their own world. SG-1 thwarted their doppelgangers' plot. Borrowing the Asgard energy weapon, they repeated the process by directing a blast back through the Kallana black hole, reversing the space-time rupture and effectively inverting the convergence effect, returning the various alternate SG-1s to their respective universes.
