Ashrak
Summary
An Ashrak is not one person in particular, but a profession. The word itself means "hunter" and the term is applied to a Goa'uld who is hired by another, usually a System Lord, to hunt down and assassinate a specific individual or an entire group of people.

The first Ashrak encountered by SG-1 was hired by the System Lords to seek out the Tok'ra Jolinar of Malkshur. Jolinar was being hunted because she tried to overthrow one of the System Lords, but was defeated when Apophis joined the battle. It was later determined by Major Carter, after seeing Cronus' face, that it was Cronus who hired the Ashrak to eliminate Jolinar. (2.02 "In the Line of Duty", 3.03 "Fair Game")
This Ashrak followed Jolinar to Nasya, a planet which was inhabited by a peaceful people. Jolinar took a village man as a host to hide from the Ashrak, but the Ashrak found her. The planet was being overrun by Jaffa, both on foot and in death gliders, and there was one mothership in orbit. No mention is made which System Lord sent the ship to Nasya. SG-1 had been negotiating with the people of Nasya to form an alliance and to set up a research outpost. In the course of the attack, many Nasyans were killed and many were badly burned. The Ashrak was in the body of a man who suffered third degree burns over eighty percent of his body. Daniel and another member of an SG unit rescued him, while Carter attempted to rescue the man who had become the host to Jolinar. When the man died, Jolinar left his body and went into Carter's through the mouth while she was attempting mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. The battle was furious and they had to leave quickly so no one was aware that Carter had been invaded. (2.02 "In the Line of Duty")
While the Ashrak recovered in the Air Force Academy Hospital, General Hammond and the rest of the SGC discovered that Carter was carrying a Goa'uld symbiote. They were able to capture her before she attempted to escape through the Stargate. The Ashrak healed himself of his burns and was able to get to Cheyenne Mountain posed as a member of the military staff. Using this new disguise, he was able to track down where Jolinar was being kept and attack her there. He killed two SF's and nearly killed Carter with "the power of the Hara'kash", the device he used to attempt his assassination. He was interrupted before he was certain that he had succeeded and he had to make his escape as soon as he possibly could. In the meantime, Jolinar gave her life to save Carter's. (2.02 "In the Line of Duty")
The Ashrak attempted escape through the Stargate with the first wave of refugees from Nasya. Daniel was escorting one of the Nasyans, Talia, whose husband had unknowingly been Jolinar's host for more than a month (she had said that he had the scar indicative of the symbiote's invasion for months, but did not say how many). After Talia went through the wormhole, the Stargate was deactivated and the Ashrak was amazed that he had missed his escape. Daniel suddenly recognized the Ashrak after having seen him pose as a doctor while he was searching for Jolinar among the recovering Nasyans at the hospital. When the Ashrak saw that Daniel recognized him, he quickly took Daniel as a hostage and insisted that General Hammond open the Stargate or he would kill him. Teal'c was able to kill the Ashrak with a zat. (2.02 "In the Line of Duty")
The second Ashrak was encounter at the Alpha Site. The Tok'ra were being driven away from their base in the Risa System by Anubis. Once the Tok'ra had completed their evacuation, Jacob Carter and his Tok'ra symbiote Selmak set off a bomb of extreme power to prevent the DHD on their base from being accessed to determine their destination. Unknown to them, the Ashrak had come with them, using a personal cloaking shield. This Ashrak used a bladed weapon to execute his targets instead of the Hara'kash device. (6.09 "Allegiance")
The Ashrak used the tension between the Tok'ra and the Jaffa at the Alpha Site as a means to eliminate both groups. He killed Ocker, the chief of security at the Tok'ra's former base, and because he was undetected, the Tok'ra accused a Jaffa named Artok because there had been obvious tension between the two individuals. As Artok was held in a detention cell, the Ashrak killed him. There was no visible means of his attack, but the Ashrak didn't count on Master Bra'tac's extraordinary tracking skills. Jack appointed teams to search for the Ashrak. Each team consisted of one Jaffa, one Tok'ra, and one Tau'ri (a member of the SGC). The Ashrak killed all three members of one team, including the SGC's Captain Greer. While trying to seek him out, Bra'tac was attacked and believed dead as the Ashrak pulled him into the bushes right in front of a very shocked Malek, the Tok'ra who had been the leader at the Risa base. (6.09 "Allegiance")
When the teams regrouped at the base camp, the Ashrak followed. He did not realize that they had determined his presence and the method he was using to remain invisible. Malek and Carter modified a naquadah generator to emit a high frequency electromagnetic field which would interfere with the Ashrak's cloaking device and render him visible. They were successful in finding him in this manner, but there were a great many injuries during the Ashrak's attempt to get to the Stargate. Bra'tac, who had been thought to be dead, was able to heal himself enough to return to the camp in time to shoot the Ashrak with his staff weapon. The Ashrak had failed to use the divide and conquer tactic and had instead brought the Tok'ra, Jaffa, and Tau'ri closer together. (6.09 "Allegiance")
The last mention of an Ashrak was when a lone assassin was able to thwart the alliance between two minor Goa'uld, Tilgath and Ramius. This lone soldier killed Tilgath and many Jaffa on both sides, but Ramius was able to escape. Bra'tac and Teal'c arrived at the scene of the slaughter, the location of which was revealed through a Rebel Jaffa working in the ranks of Ramius. The assassin turned out to be a Kull Warrior, a new kind of foot soldier genetically cloned by Anubis and implanted with a Goa'uld symbiote. The differences between this Kull Warrior and an Ashrak were made obvious since the Kull Warrior lacked cunning and intelligence, two qualities an Ashrak possessed that made him an assassin of the highest rank among the Goa'uld.
