BEAU BRIDGES is to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLiFF), which began today, October 21. This news from Sun Sentinel:
Bridges, son of the late Lloyd and older brother of Oscar winner Jeff, will be at the 26th annual event Oct. 23 for a Cinema Paradiso screening of his new film,”Don’t Fade Away,” starring Ryan Kwanten (“True Blood”), Mischa Barton and rapper Ja Rule.
FLiFF will present Bridges with a Lifetime Achievement Award, a ceremony highlighted by a clip reel retrospective of his screen performances, just prior to the 5:45 p.m. showing of “Don’t Fade Away.” An audience Q&A follows the movie.

Filming Projects for Christopher Judge
A recent article about the filming of the movie To Have and To Hold mentions that the cast includes CHRISTOPHER JUDGE and a few other familiar Stargate vets, including MARK DACASCOS (Tyre, SGA). This is the first time we’ve seen Judge’s name in association with the film, which is set during the 1600s during the early settlements of Virginia. From Village News Online: Filming concludes at Henricus park:
According to the film’s location manager Tom Trigo, “To Have and To Hold,” which is an adaptation of a book published by the same name in 1900 by Virginian author Mary Johnston, is a family-based romance story – with a twist of action and adventure – set in the Virginia Colony as it expands westward. Though much of the film is shot in Henricus, its setting takes place mostly in Jamestown; however, scenes will be shot along the James River, as well as in or near various historical plantations and farms in the region.
Trigo, a native of Virginia, had been scouting Henricus for several years in his search for the perfect location to shoot the film. When he first read the script he knew Henricus was the ideal place to shoot.
Make sure to visit the article for more about the filming at Henricus Historical Park.
Another movie that Judge is cast in is also moving its filming location for its last few weeks of principal photography: The Dark Knight Rises. From Mania Beyond Entertainment: Dark Knight Rises in NY:
Warner Bros. Pictures and director Christopher Nolan have one more city to take on before they wrap up the production for The Dark Knight Rises. Cue the Frank Sinatra or Jay-Z songs because New York is where Nolan and his crew will be end their journey, beginning production in the Big Apple on October 29. The last leg of shooting is expected to last around 14 days and the Los Angeles Times’ 24 Frames reports that the “Occupy Wall Street” may even be used in some scenes though it won’t be a part of the storyline.
The Dark Knight Rises is currently scheduled to open July 20, 2012.

Another Reunion for Robert Picardo
Recently we reported that ROBERT PICARDO had a reunion with his Star Trek: Voyager co-star Kate Mulgrew via his guest starring in her new Adult Swim series NTSF:SD:SUV. Now, we’ve just heard that he’s been reunited with his China Beach co-star Dana Delany in her new show Body of Proof, which is about Delany’s medical examiner Dr. Megan Hunt, her co-workers, her personal life, and her search for the truth when it comes to determining who caused the deaths of the victims she examines. We’ve got a little bit of information about Picardo’s episode from TV Line:
Dana Delany will reunite with her former China Beach costar Robert Picardo in a Season 2 episode of Body of Proof, TVLine has confirmed. The actress tweeted a picture of herself and Picardo, who will play an Italian-American restaurant owner, on the set with the message, “Me and Bob Picardo, together again! So happy.”
To see the image, visit Delany’s Twitpic link. Body of Proof airs Tuesdays on ABC at 10/9c, but right now, we’re not sure when Picardo’s episode will be airing. We’ll keep our eyes open for a date.
Jewel Staite Interview
From Very Aware: INTERVIEW: Jewel Staite talks FIREFLY, Food, Fun, and Fillion:
You played Doctor Jennifer Keller on STARGATE ATLANTIS; does the medical jargon stay with you and also how’s your Mandarin? Do you know medical jargon in Mandarin?
JS: I know no medical jargon or Mandarin anymore. As soon as it’s out of my mouth and the scene’s done, I promptly allow my puny brain to forget it. I have been known to use the phrase, “Dammit, Jim, I’m a doctor, not a mechanic!”, however.
