Fairly Legal is the new title of the series; it was formerly called Facing Kate. The pilot is 90 minutes and the remaining nine episodes will be one hour each. The premise: “Kate Reed (Sarah Shahi) is a firm believer that justice can always be found-even if it’s not always in the courtroom. Except, it seems, when it comes to conflicts in her own life” (Show’s official homepage).

Many celebrities have joined Kaplan in a campaign to persuade zoos to close elephant exhibits and transfer the pachyderms to larger sanctuaries.

The host committee for the premiere of “Elephants and Man” includes Cher, Alec Baldwin, Kathy Griffin, Billy Bob Thornton, Jane Fonda, Robin Williams, Ed Begley, Jr., Paul Haggis, Fisher Stevens, Ric O’Barry, Karen Black, Lainie Kazan, Ken Davitian, Sally Field, Beau Bridges and others. Jason Momoa as Khal Drogo in GAME OF THRONES (HBO)
 • Jason Momoa – His Conan movie was renamed to Conan the Barbarian, but still has the same release date in the United States: August 19, 2011. For his other project, HBO’s Game of Thrones, there are some rumors going around that HBO might already be renewing the new series for a second season, even before the first has been aired. Speculation as to why this might be the case can be found at the fansite Winter Is Coming. This fansite is very active in posting the latest news on the new HBO series and this editor highly recommends it. There’s also a recent article that includes an image of Momoa as Khal Drogo entitled “MGoT update: Join the Dothraki horde.”
 • Michael Shanks, Lexa Doig, Steve Bacic – Filming has wrapped for Hangar 14. Shanks plays a bad guy, a Russian gangster named Demetrius, and Doig plays a SWAT team member along with Steve Bacic, Michael Jai White, and the movie’s star, former wrestler Steve Austin. Doig published a few pictures on her Twitter while on the set of the movie: “Me as SWAT chick” and “The Boys :).” Currently, IMDb lists Doig in her role, but not her husband Shanks! The storyline: “A training exercise for the LAPD SWAT Team goes terribly wrong when they find themselves pitted against two rival gangs while trapped in an abandoned Hangar, armed with nothing but blanks.”
 • Stargate Universe – Our Stargate Wiki now has all of the transcripts for the first half of Season Two. SGU will be returning to Syfy in the Spring, possibly early April 2011.

Shanks Has "Fantastic Hawkman Sequence" in "Icarus"

Michael Shanks as Hawkman in SMALLVILLE (The CW)Smallville producer Brian Peterson told TV Guide that the episode “Icarus” will contain “a fantastic Hawkman sequence” for Stargate star Michael Shanks. This episode is the show’s mid-season finale and will premiere this coming Friday, December 10, at 8/7c on The CW.

Shanks told his fans at the recent Creation Stargate Convention in Los Angeles that his Hawkman costume was changed so that his wings were digitally produced. He hopes that these new wings will be more realistic-looking than the ones he wore in Absolute Justice, which were operated by puppeteers and were so cumbersome that they threw him off balance.

This episode also includes a cameo of Universe star Alaina Huffman as Black Canary.

Here’s the preview (embedded from YouTube):
Alaina Huffman as The Black Canary (The CW)
Alaina Huffman as The Black Canary (The CW)
From Rich Sands at TV Guide:

Smallville‘s fall finale will be heavy on the heroes, with guest appearances by Hawkman (Michael Shanks) and Stargirl (Britt Irvin) and cameos by Black Canary (Alaina Huffman) and Chloe (Alison Mack, in a scene that was cut from the season premiere for time).

But more heroes means more threats, including iconic DC Comics villain Deathstroke, the new superhuman alter ego of General Slade Wilson (Michael Hogan). Meanwhile, public hostility toward the heroes is getting uglier.

“I kind of of refer to this as the Empire Strikes Back part of our show,” says exec producer Brian Peterson. “At the beginning of it, everybody is on top of the world, and then there’s a bit of a cataclysmic ending to it all.”
Reminder: Michael Shanks Guests on "Tower Prep" Tonight

Finally, after some changes in the airing schedule, we’ll get to see Michael Shanks in his guest role as Professor Literature in Cartoon Network’s new live-action show Tower Prep!

Tune in at 9 PM ET to see Professor Literature give his students an assignment in the episode “Book Report” in which “Ian finds a strange book that contains secret escape plans” (TV Guide).

If you’re unable to watch live (it is on at the same time as Stargate Universe, after all), you can still catch his appearance later by watching the episode online at the show’s official website.

For those new to the show, here’s a brief synopsis:

What is Tower Prep? It’s an exclusive school for students with special abilities, but where it is or how they got there is still unexplained. And who knows what other mysteries will be explored?

Tower Prep, which premiered last month, remains Cartoon Network’s only live-action show after they recently canceled Unnatural History, which premiered in June.
