Sky1/UK: SGU 2.05 “Cloverdale” at 9 PM.

We’re in the process of trying to verify with MSOL whether or not tonight’s episode of the Cartoon Network’s Tower Prep is the one in which Michael Shanks has the role as Professor Literature. We were under the impression that the episode he appeared in was directed by Stargate alum Peter DeLuise, but the information in the IMDb record for tonight’s episode says differently. If you miss watching at 8 PM ET/PT, the show’s official website posts the episodes for later viewing online. [NOTE: MSOL has since confirmed that Michael’s episode is going to air on November 16.]

Wednesday, November 3 Gemini Awards 25Tonight is the Industry Gala for the 25th Annual Gemini Awards, and we’ll learn if our SGU nominees will be taking home their trophies:

  1. Best Photography in a Dramatic Program or Series – Jim Menard, “Light”

  3. Best Sound in a Dramatic Series – Kelly Cole, Jay Cheetham, Kirby Jinnah, Bill Mellow, Patrick Ramsay, Steve Smith, Joe Watts, Matt Wilson; “Air Part 1”
  4. Best Visual Effects – Mark Savela, Brenda Campbell, Shannon Gurney, Vivian Jim, Andrew Karr, Michael Lowes, Kodie MacKenzie, Krista McLean, Alec MClymont, Craig Vandenbiggelaar; “Air Part 1”

Mallozzi's Weblog: Elyse Levesque Fan Q&A

Stargate Universe star Elyse Levesque has submitted her answers to the questions posed by fans at executive producer Joseph Mallozzi’s weblog.

Eli Wallace and Chloe Armstrong in TIME (MGM)
Eli Wallace and Chloe Armstrong share a moment in Levesque's favorite episode from the first half, TIME (MGM)
A few highlights:

Emotional scenes definitely take their toll, but I find them to be more therapeutic than anything. As actors it’s part of our job to go into those dark, messy places. I think it’s important to leave “the work” at work and not take it home with you.

What’s great about Chloe is that the possibilities as to where her character can go are endless. I would love to see her come into her own and take on a leadership, perhaps in an area that would allow her to exercise her skills as a political science major.

One of the hardest scenes for me, probably would have been in the pilot where my character attacks Rush after her father dies. The emotional and physical demands of that scene were both very challenging. I felt terrible having to beat up poor Bobby, but he was a trooper and insisted I just go for it. Funny part is that I was probably more bruised after that scene than he was!

My favorite episode of the first half is “Time”. I think it stands out. Everyone brought their best game to the table in that episode and it shows.

As far as Eli and Chloe are concerned, you never know where the writers may take the relationship, but I think it’s a stronger choice to not have them get together because once you cross that bridge, there’s no turning back. There’s something enticing about not giving the audience what they want and I think the constant desire to see these two together will keep certain fans tuning in!

There’s more, so make sure to visit Mallozzi’s Weblog: Elyse Levesque Answers Your Questions!

Ask Alaina Huffman Your Questions

Once again, executive producer Joseph Mallozzi is opening his weblog up to fan questions directed to someone attached to the production of Stargate Universe. This time, you’re invited to ask Alaina Huffman (Lt. Tamara Johansen) your questions:

I begin today’s entry with another BIG guest blogger announcement. As you all know, Jamil Walker Smith and Elyse Levesque have your questions and are furiously working away on them, also managing to squeeze in time for their full-time jobs on Stargate: Universe. So to those of you asking – yes, they’re working on ‘em and should have their answers back our way…soon-ish. In the meantime, while we’re waiting, let’s put another Q&A into play…

Actress Alaina Huffman (SGU’s Tamara “TJ” Johansen) wants to hear from YOU. Yes, YOU. NOT that other guy or gal, but YOU. So if you have a question for Alain, post away. I’ll be gathering them up over the course of the next few days and will be sending them her way by week’s end – after which I’ll start collecting questions for yet another guest blogger!

To submit your questions, do the following:

  1. Go to this entry in Mallozzi’s weblog: Alaina Huffman wants to hear from YOU!
  2. Scroll all the way down until you get to the comments section.
  3. Fill in the form. Make sure to proofread your entry because you won’t have a chance to edit it after you submit it.
  4. Click on “Submit Comment”.

Mallozzi reviews all comments before they get posted, so it might take a little while for your entry to make it through.

Stargate SG-1 character-focused comic books are being developed by Dynamite. Stargate: Vala Mal Doran is written by Brandon Jerwa and involves Vala in an “Ocean’s Eleven” type heist. It’s supposed to be released in May. Stargate: Daniel Jackson, written by Doug Murray, focuses on Jackson’s “voice of reason” and intellect while going on a classic SG-1 adventure.

On our Twitter, we provided a link to Chicago Tribune‘s Maureen Ryan’s review of the Supernatural episode in which Michael Shanks briefly appeared. Do you agree with those among Ryan’s readers that his role was way too small (although he did warn us that it would be so)?
